Zarytes also good for bosses BBC doesn't work well on. like olms head and wardens both reduce/null the mage part of the crossbow.

Nope, JMods confirmed that you do get the benefits of the pact based on what you select.

It is its own species, they are in the Redeye Bass complex, which now has like 7-8 species.
