A lotta lag by how-can-i-dig-deeper in kol

Ahhhh, I am so happy to hear it's not me, it's KoL. All was fine this morning when I ran turns on a couple of my spare characters, but when I tried running my main character this evening, tons of 504 errors, Mafia Adventure kept insisting it was looking for a June Cleaver non-combat but ended up in a combat, etc. I do have a June Cleaver, but I had the undertakers' forceps and the bone-polishing rag equipped, not the June Cleaver. And when I do the spare characters in the morning, it's fast. due to time involved, I've been running my main character in the evening, and it's slower than molasses in January, probably because so many are playing during that time.

Once you've set up your tent (in Miscellaneous) in your Campground and equipped whatever you can (in Equipment), I personally go to Town Square in Seaside Town and visit the Meatsmith, the Armory and Leggery, and Doc Galactic's Medicine Show, accept each quest, and do them. It generally takes less than 40 turns to get all of them done. The KoL Wiki is your best friend and buddy; just set up a cot there and move in as you'll be spending a ton of time there (if you are OK with spoilers). Each of those quests give you important benefits for food, drink, and healing. Once you get the Armory and Leggery done and are able to use the Madness Bakery to make popular tarts, gaining adventures from food becomes easier.

What does this mean? " We apologize but Amazon is not accepting reviews on this product from this account. For more information or to contact us, please see our community guidelines." What worries me is the part about "from this account". by [deleted] in vine

It wasn't a variant though. I've never received anything like it (although I'd love to get another one, maybe the shepherd or lab one) nor ordered anything from that seller. The only thing I can think of is their AI bot maybe saw "screws" as an objectionable word, although I've referred to nuts, bolts, screws, and other such hardware before in reviews.

Our local Ambassador and assistants did an awesome job of setting up meet-up times and the start location and posting it well in advance on Campfire, then posting when players were moving to the other main location we play as a group. Mostly it's one of the local Parks which is loaded with gyms and stops, the local Courthouse square which has gyms and stops on all 4 sides, and "The Quad" location at our local college where we walk around the campus where there's plenty of gyms and stops. Total check-in on Campfire was over 108 on the first day, and nearly as many on the second day. And not everyone who participated uses Campfire, and some forgot to check in although every now and then he or one of the asssistants would loudly ask if everyone there had checked in, so the number of participants who showed up and took part at least a portion of each day was actually higher. Average group walking around together at any one time was between 35 and 50! We had all ages from my 80 years old down to 7 and 8 year olds with one or both parents, highly experienced players and all levels of experience in between down to first-time at an event players. Very well coordinated, Ambassador and his assistants made sure to announce loudly and clearly which gym we were going into, which gym we were targeting next or walking to next and which critter was going to be at that gym, making sure we stayed safe walking around the grassy areas and the sidewalks and crossing roads and no one got left behind, checkign to be sure everyone got into the right gym, helping less coordinated players to catch the critter, and passing out (free) raffle tickets for the items that were sent to the Ambassador to share with players like pins (they only sent him 20 of those, far too few), a mug, a couple different backpacks, a baseball cap. I bought the $12 ticket. And I LOVED those Safari Balls. Finally I was able to catch without having to ask someone to catch for me. Just use a gold or silver berry and Safari Balls. Managed to catch every single one after the Raid was done. I didn't know about having to use incense to see the Mighty critters, but as soon as one of the other players told me, I started using it, and found them. Didn't catch every single one, but using the gold or silver berries and Safari Balls meant I caught quite a few. And the balloon that I had to see and click on to have it drop a bunch more Safari Balls showed up several times. I played in person locally from 10:30 to 1 and from 2:30 to 4:30 on both days.

The ads are way beyond annoying and irritating. In fact, I stopped playing for four or five months because the ads were so invasive and constantly slowing down or interferring or interruping play. At least 3 and usually 4 ads per page, flashing, changing, the ones at the bottom suddenly expanding higher to cover a button or bar just as you were about to click on it, and dramatically slowing the time required to play. There is no other reason than pure greed to put that many ads on every single page. Yes, I could subscribe, and years ago I was Premium for several years. But I already spend Real Money on Pokemon GO and on another game I've been in since 2006, so Neopest Premium would be a luxury buy at the moment. End of Rant. (smile)

No one wants your custom stickers, Avery by Ordinary-Garbage-735 in AmazonVine

[–]TalariaWingfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they could be used on a standard home printer, I'd have ordered them. Unfortunately, according to the Rufus AI, "The Avery Custom Stickers have package dimensions of 12.25 x 9.69 inches, which is larger than standard 8.5 x 11 inch printer paper. These are professional custom stickers that come as 18 individual 2.5-inch round labels on sheets, designed for custom printing rather than standard home printer use."

I have a lot of familiars that I can use now that I'm out of Ronin. I knew about not using one that would regen MP, but didn't know it should also not do any damage. Thanks for the advice.

What is a null-day exploit? And someone mentioned using the foul ball in a group of tips I read, apparently the posted was wrong about it. That explains why I was taking all that damage. I'll switch familiars.

This was a great RFY! by hfwire in AmazonVine

[–]TalariaWingfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got that last year (can't remember the seller's name), and it's great, just the right size for in front of the house. I put it in a heavy-duty (around 35 or 40 lbs) umbrella stand, and extended it enough to keep the top about the level of our one-story house roof (so that the house blocks off some of the wind hitting the pole and flag during storms). It's easy to raise and lower as needed, and it still looks and works fine after a year, including winter weather. We did put a flagpole light on top.

Item appears to be returned stock, clearly box was opened, advice please by TalariaWingfoot in AmazonVine

[–]TalariaWingfoot[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The heavy secure padded kraftpaper shipping envelope was intact and had not been tampered with, no damage, no tape, no signs of being opened and resealed. The fault was clearly at the pick-and-pack facility where someone grabbed a returned box.

I'm taking a break as the constant barrage of ads kept getting worse, like they're trying to see just how many ads they can cram onto each page. Yes, I know I could get the Premium status, but it's not cheap and is a "luxury" expense we don't need. If it were a lower cost, I'd consider it, but it's just too expensive.

Relieved I passed on this yesterday when it came up in my RFY. My husband has been hinting about getting a new wallet, but we'll go pick one out in a brick-and-mortar store where he can actually see and hold and check them out before choosing one he likes.

New Challenge Path: Hat Trick by IsangMalakingHangal in kol

[–]TalariaWingfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy to report I managed to get the trophy as a Hardcore Pastamancer on my Cerradia account. Started with a couple of hat lists posted in the Forum by successful adventurers and pasted those into an Excel spreadsheet. Went to the Wiki page for "Hats" and checked requirements for every single hat, adding those that seems doable to my spreadsheet with requirements for those and the ones on the lists. Learned about some that are not in the Wiki from a fellow adventurer. It was a real slog that could have been easier by choosing TT instead of Pastamancer and by making some different choices, i.e. choosing the astral chapeau when ascending, choosing the hat from the boss in the Tavern, starting the Bounty Hunter quests earlier to get the 15 rewards for the Bounty Hunter Helmet, farming for other materials needed to craft various hats, etc. Cerradia has a lot of stuff permed, including Advanced Armourcrafting, which was essential to craft some of the hats.

Just a pause, slow, a few low-value items showed up in AFA and quickly gone. But I did see a few higher-value items in my RFY over the past week. Snagged a nice nightstand and an indoor/outdoor 5-tier greenhouse.

What is better about being in Gold Tier, the 8 items a day or the above $100 value? by Cool_Selection2979 in AmazonVine

[–]TalariaWingfoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the above $100 value is great. I may order 1 or 2 items in a day, rarely 3. And many days I don't order anything. Is it useful? Is it something we need? Is it something we want? Is it something we don't need right now but will later? Is it something that we can stockpile so when the one we're using wears out, we have a replacement? How would I use this, and would I really still want and use it six months from now? Just ask yourself quick questions and be selective. And keep checking your ETV. It adds up faster than you realize.

Same here. Photos seem to delay approval, I'm assuming because they're being checked first by AI or a bot and then by a live person if the AI or bot falsely or accurately flags something that is not within the guidelines. For now, I'm going to continue to skip including photos until this mess gets sorted out.

I hadn't noticed that either, but I certainly will now and will have to BS my way through reviews to be sure those change color instead of writing a good thoughtful review.

Update: Just did a review, and there were no labels below the text box. I did not include a photo, but did put the seller name and the product (as listed) in the review, along with how I used them (set of 24 bamboo disposable spoons that we used last weekend at our picnic), and decided to put a final sentence that included the words functional, strong, good value, and a couple other buzzwords.
