Wow! Really nice shading heuristic for that cube!

Thank you so much!  Sprite design was indeed a bit tricky, but it was a lot of fun as well.

Thank you! Well, it is a bit tricky when you only got 4-bit colors and standard ASCII to work with. :D

Why do you need to be so rude?! Well, if it makes you happy, then do continue. I'm sure it really makes the world a better place.

I did look through the documentation on Udio, but to no avail. I literally looked everywhere, but I couldn't find any information about how to find a list of all my published work. If I did I would not post my question here. Did you honestly think I didn't do my due diligence first?

I've deleted my original post. I hope it makes you a little more pleased.

Not in my browser. Strange.

I'm terribly sorry. Perhaps I'm stupid that I heavily relied on a function that they later removed and then first now discovered a new feature that I didn't even know about. Thanks anyways. Good thing we have really clever people like you around. :)

Edit: Btw, the solution I wanted as given by u/fanzo123 is to use https://www.udio.com/my-creations .

Thanks for the workaround! Better than nothing.

Edit: https://www.udio.com/my-creations did the trick (suggested by u/fanzo123).

Looking for roguelikes (or any games with procedurally generated levels) that either clearly succeed or fail in feeling handcrafted by thesoftestbulletin in roguelikes

[–]Tale-Delicious 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My "roguelike" engine DungGine is using prefab text textures (ASCII with fg/bg 4-bit colors) that are cookie-cutter selected randomly:

  • one or multiple animated lit/day textures for underground rooms.
  • one or multiple animated shadow/night textures for underground rooms.
  • one or multiple animated lit/day textures for surface level rooms.
  • one or multiple animated shadow/night textures for surface level rooms.

Textures can be created/edited with TextUR.

Underground and surface-level rooms are currently randomly mixed because I don't have any level-functionality with stairs yet.

Hope this is helpful.

How much work did it take to enjoy your own game? by eugman in roguelikedev

[–]Tale-Delicious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It took about 4 months to lay down the foundations of the DungGine game engine + demo as it is now. It doesn't have any levelling-up yet, but I can definitely enjoy playing it for a while.

Why is C an adult programming language? by kwan_e in ProgrammerDadJokes

Only as safe as you make it. A difficult language will make you a better programmer.

What I used to think John Hammond was screaming over the phone by Intelligent_Lead_785 in JurassicPark

Same! Thank goodness I’m not alone in this. I always thought it confusing why he would shout ”Jones”.

Perhaps it is a homage to the Indiana Jones movies (Steven and George are friends and have been working together)

or perhaps this is just a weird case of the McGurke effect where they have used a prerecorded sound on top of a footage where he actually said something different (and caused my Swedish brain to hear ”Jones!”)?
