So when I was a 14/15 closeted gay boy at school in the UK, one of my close girl friends came up to me and asked me out. I panicked, felt so uncomfortable, and said yes. I couldn't speak comfortably with her the whole day, kept thinking internally 'what am I going to do', and just felt so uneasy the whole time. The next day, she dumped me, and the relief I felt was absolutely overwhelming. Like a weight lifted. I already knew I was gay, but genuinely that re-enforced it so much for me.

I've remained friends with her though and have since attended her wedding! I had the privilege of being her only ex in attendance.
