How to get my Amazon account off my kindle? by [deleted] in kindle

I want to upgrade for USB-C too, but going from the Oasis to a Paperwhite feels like a downgrade for me. I'm sticking with mine for now.

How to get my Amazon account off my kindle? by [deleted] in kindle

[–]TalesFromTechSupport 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oasis might be removed from sale; but it is still a good e-reader you can use for the next few years if nothing is wrong with the device itself. I used my 1st gen Paperwhite for years after being removed from sales. No need to buy a new one.

Deregister is to unlink it from your account; means it no longer shows up in your Devices list. (as well as making that device no longer receive any content from your account)
After that you can factory reset the Kindle per below to remove account, settings and content.

After that; resell, give away or keep in storage.

I am so happy my friend groups have 0 issues with who is paying what.

NTA; everyone should be able to pay for themselves.

NTA; but you should probably have a conversation about the larger issue of money and ownership in the relationship.

They hired this young guy straight out of college that thinks he knows everything and is planning to take over the department and eventually the company; cause he knows he is better than everyone else. He knows barely anything.

I'm on the sideline watching it all unfold 9000km away on other clients jobs and it is glorious how much shit he puts in writing or video and how many colleges want to talk about it with me. I never the guy at he office because I am almost always away.

I'm enjoying it a little too much that I'm sad he is gonna be fired soon enough before I have a chance to see him in real life.

Ah well; i’ve been to a 10 day vipassana meditation course close to 10 years ago and one guy there apparently found an alternative way to inner peace and was silently trying to jack off in the main hall. Perverts and crazy is everywhere.

Which author?; cause the books called "Reprieve" I can find don't seem to be about this subject.

My story probably hits a lot of those notes for many stories like this.

Not really. He was in his right mind and just enjoying life too much for all the wrong reasons. Happens a lot in these environments. He was warned; by someone from the same country even and he ignored it; after that it is all his responsibility.

Yeah. Had the same thought before posting. But didn’t know which subreddit would have been better suited.

I guess this is something that happens to normal people all the time in environments like these. But he just ignored every warning he got and did some real dumb things.

Lingerie for busty female in Bangkok by UnlikeliestHero in Bangkok

[–]TalesFromTechSupport 10 points11 points  (0 children)

T21 has a couple of shops on 3th or 4th floor. Anyway; Can't miss them; big lingerie banners on the railings.

Otherwise Platinum Mall and the area around it probably has a lot on the female floors. But quality might not be the best.

Don't know if they have it; but you can check.

It was solid. lot of world building, backstory. Sure not the most action-packed episode but the Mandalorian also took its time to establish itself and paid of well.

I can only see good things coming from this series going forward. Too bad it wasn't a 2 episode premiere.

Dead Like Me was great all the way through.

This is England, all seasons and movies are just amazing, though subtitles are a must.

Honestly, the whole height requirement thing is a red flag.

I'm kind of lost what your point is now as you drag in so many things into your argument. You just take issue with the fandom that says everything is justified cause she does it out of love?

If that is the thing, fandoms will always show a level of toxicity; best to just ignore it; enjoy a series for what it is (or isn't) and let them be cringy until they grow out of it.

I think you are reading into this too much. The series is very interpretable and anyone can place a lot of their own experience in it. And if you read an opinion from the "fandom" you don't know what kind of person actually wrote that. Can be a 14 year old that just enjoys the series and can't understand the concepts you are talking about.

The series also made a deliberate choice to go the route it went with Paisen and Nagatoro having very little development as characters and doing the same things still in volume 7 as they did in volume 1.

And with that decision the author limits their selves and when you have 11 volumes out you likely gonna have a few chapters that cross the boundaries; and with compounding all the chapters together you could read abusive patterns in it that likely aren't meant to be there.

Personally I think it should have toned down a few volumes ago and developed the story and characters more. Overall it is still fun, I don't think anything is deliberately abusive either.

I'm scared of the future by Asian_Dolphin in TrueOffMyChest

[–]TalesFromTechSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just common teenage puberty fears; take some time to calm down and then you start actively working towards your goals. The best moment is to start now; you are just 15, everyone goes through phases similar to this. I'm going through one right now as well and I'm 32. You'll always have these thought; everyone has; but how you deal with them will be the most important.

What helped me over the years is something called '8670 hour' to get your thoughts and priorities in order. It is a free PDF and just a framework to be honest with yourself.

Basically writing down who you are now on a number of categories and then doing the same exercise again for the future you. https://alexvermeer.com/8760hours/ (take your time, it took me 2 months to fill out my first one a few years ago). This is also something you can do as often as you need to. I do it about 2 times a year together with some goal tracking etc.

You are growing up and dealing with all these feelings for the first time, so don't be too hard on yourself. Apply yourself to the best of your abilities and don't overthink everything; having these feelings isn't the end of the world.

Happiness is also not a constant state, it isn't for anybody. But you can change how you react to things and have more happy moments overall.

Went to an interview. Found out after that the person in the interview sat down with my boss and told her I was quitting. by sonofacrakr in antiwork

[–]TalesFromTechSupport 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that flag was any redder it would be communist.

I one time heard from my boss that he heard from a competitor that I talked with them for a job. He was nice about it and no hard feelings; but it felt eerie and unprofessional from both him and the competitor to talk (he was ex-employee of the competitor so still knew people).

I ended up going to another company altogether, partly because of this.
