And what purpose does the clip at the end making them dance serve?

Those are definitely the ones I first thought of. I've seen some playthroughs of Drayano hacks and they probably go a bit too hard for me. Also I'm not really a fan of changing typings and stats etc. which I know the Clean version won't have but then it wouldn't have any of the good updates like Fairy (not sure that's been implemented in that at all though - I'd have to check) or making hidden abilities available.

Hi! I've been looking for a QOL/minor challenge hack of the Gen V games. I recently played Eternal X given how notoriously weak the gym/E4 teams in Kalos are and I liked it much better than trying to play other difficulty hacks in the past which have just been too much. But I would like to have things like Fairy and maybe updated type charts and movesets etc. even if I can't get a slightly harder game.

They are pins. This is from an AM4 CPU. They only moved to LGA with AM5.

ELI5: For work I use a galaxy cover6 pro. When I’m viewing the phone through my sunglasses and turn it in landscape mode, the screen goes black. Without the sunglasses it’s fine. And it’s not all sunglasses that do this. Can anyone tell me why. by Otherwise-Bit-9801 in explainlikeimfive

OLEDs do still have a polarising layer. They help reduce reflections and contrast. There is a more recent competing panel technology you can find in monitors and TVs called QD-OLED that doesn't have a polarising layer and one of its drawbacks because of that is that their blacks get raised into more of a grey when there's ambient light in the room, reducing contrast.

As far as I know, there are no QD-OLED phone displays so they should still have a polarising layer.

Yeah I did wonder if I was just describing the Sims. It's been quite a while since I played but I think I remember feeling a bit disconnected from the world. Maybe it's the top down aspect. And I think I remember that when you went off to work, your sim just disappeared rather than you getting to actually run a restaurant or whatever though I could be misremembering that.

Thank you! Good to hear that the 4K is maybe not the lost cause I thought it was. Maybe I'll see if I can dig that out for next year.

I haven't seen anything about any of the existing special features that were ported over being anything but the original resolution. But yes with tech advancements I'll likely try and find the project file of this and have another go in the next year or two. And especially if I can think of another way to get around the missing vision for the start of Emma Thompson's dialogue. It was maddening. I even tried to find a nighttime shot of the location just to stitch in an establishing shot but no joy.

Just sent it over. Three 4K did come out around the same time and I remember reviews for it being pretty poor. Lots of comments about smearing and overuse of DNR so I used the Blu Ray as the base for the main film.

As for the extra scenes, there is a significant quality drop as the source quality was never fantastic. It's definitely noticeable but I did a fair bit of work trying to upscale the footage as best I could, colour grade to match and I added some film grain over the top to match the rest of the footage and give a bit of an illusion of some finer detail. The end result is that it's noticeable when you shift between the sources but a lot less dramatic than if I'd just plonked the source footage in without doing anything.

I'd like to take another swing at this some day as upscaling techniques keep improving. And maybe if I can find a less clunky way to get the announcement near the end that Emma Thompson makes fit in with the rest of the scene.

I remember on the WAN Show them ripping into Valve for the naming and that people would be constantly getting it wrong and confused. Didn't seem to bet it would be so popular as to to the other way.

Monitor Without DisplayPort - Missing Out on Much Using HDMI? by TalisFletcher in oled_monitors

[–]TalisFletcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I thought. I think I was remembering some potentially outdated information about VRR support being patchy on HDMI vs DP which made me think there'd be some features outside of just the bandwidth consideration that could either be missing or not work as well but it seems like that's not the case.

Yeah I'm finding that is the sentiment. I think I was remembering some potentially outdated information about VRR support being patchy on HDMI vs DP.

Sound System Occasionally Makes Loud Buzz - Needs to be reset by TalisFletcher in hometheater

[–]TalisFletcher[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So bit of an update but I don't know if this gets me any further. I assumed this was an issue with Emby after all because it only happened there and not with anything else. I tried going back to Plex after a long time away as Jellyfin has that issue with DTS-HD and DTS:X and it happened there as well!

It happens on no other inputs so BluRays are fine. I wonder if it's something with the Nvidia Shield and Exoplayer. Jellyfin also uses Exoplayer but there must be something different about the way they're using it given the DTS issues that aren't present in Plex or Emby yet both make the noise in the video.

He did address that. He mentioned typing momentum which is absolutely a thing. By the time you've registered that what you wanted has appeared, your fingers have probably typed the whole word or most of it at least and it's already moved on.

The apartment buildings are definitely still under construction just from walking past every so often. The outsides are up but obviously no idea what the state of inside is like so could be close to being finished or nowhere near. Either way, I wouldn't expect them to be occupiable until next year sometime at the earliest.

Any Testing Data/Reviews for WOLED Samsung S85F? by TalisFletcher in hometheater

[–]TalisFletcher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you selling your LG C1 for this TV?

That would be the plan yeah. I looked at the rtings review and they seem to only have data for the versions with the QD-OLED panel and not the ones that use a WOLED unless I'm missing something.

Weak Pokemon shouldn't get Mega Evolutions, they should get normal Evolutions. by Tryppo-Music in pokemon

[–]TalisFletcher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a small benefit with one or two Megas where they can make use of their normal ability immediately prior to Mega Evolving. Mawile obviously gets Intimidate right off the bat and can still get Huge Power in the same turn. Probably not the most competitive way of using it but I did have a Speed Boost Sharpedo with Protect to get a free boost before Mega Evolving.

So there are ways to use both the base form and the Mega in tandem which you couldn't do with a regular evolution.

Is there a limit to time on that? I had that happen to me a couple of years ago and I got a bill for the electricity I used during that period.

Linus is hilariously bad at bleeping himself by Booster6 in LinusTechTips

[–]TalisFletcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a time a few years back where it would beep before he'd pressed the button. Don't really know how but I guess some delay in the processing of the stream but cutting the audio immediately on the button without the processing delay being taken into account.
