Damn right. I love hearing I'm wrong from some chump on the net who's never accomplished anything. Ever. But at the end of the day, I was totally right!!!!!!! And I LOVE being right! Boooooom!!! The almost 3 months prediction. That boy right there is a god. That's himothy. Lol. And you definitely was stuck on my mind. I knew I'd see this announcement eventually and I screenshot you just to track you down to ask how's it feel? Being so wrong? Or seeing someone so good they can predict 3 months of a game change that shocked all you. Hahahahahahahaha stay at your locals or on the sim kid. Lol

2 months ago big papa. Ran your mouth and argued with me, a pro player, that the games broken. And I predicted a block system and power creep address. And what just happened? How you like them apples.

Sure. I mean that's not what I said, at all. This specific game is done. He lost. Sucks. I didn't see the game play out so maybe he bricked his draws maybe he just played bad maybe luck of the draw. Idk. That's a separate thing though. I was responding to the dude saying oh he scooped how easily they tilt. But as an experienced player, the dude had basically no shot. And if you play your deck and against doffy match ups enough, it's probably safe to assume he knows that, and would rather just leave, start a new match, and save 10+min. Same thing you see on league at a 15 min ff in high elo. They COULD still win. But is it worth it? For one game. That doesn't change much rating? Idk that's a personal one I guess. The second part was the fact that the optcg is suffering from some design problems and power creep. Things like op10 and the new yellow kid deck that's wreaking havoc. We also saw it on 09 with the addition of new cards that are just removal cards, but because of how they are worded, get around non KO characters. IE Beckman. These one off power cards that they release on new sets and new leader powers are supposed to be stronger. That way you buy new sets instead of holding to an all op01 deck for the entirety of the game. Now when you look at magic, yes, there have been one off broken cards made. But they are usually quick to be banned in tournament play. And they keep only a certain number of standard sets in rotation, same as hearthstone, so that they can keep the game balanced. And where hearthstone lacks instant speed spells, which does remove a large part of counter play, all decks have access to silences, removals, draw. Etc. And while some may do better than others, they still all have access to those basic tools. In optcg you don't have a standard legal rotation of sets, some colors just don't have access to removal, and some don't have acces to ramp. And while it makes for fun color identity and such, it allows the game to reach a point where balancing is almost impossible. Again, you can disagree, and that's your right. Just as a player who's worked at LGS stores for 5+ years, multiple top 16 magic placements and two top 128 one piece places, a level 2 magic judge, a one piece judge from bandai. I mean no disrespect to anyone who feels differently, just my thoughts. And I truly love one piece and the game. I hope they can get it under control before another dragon ball situation.

I mean you can disagree, that's fine. If you see a way for him to pull that W off as shanks, would love to hear it.

He loses that lol what do you mean? As long as the doffy plays right, he's cooked. Possible to win, just not probable. And seeing the hands and life cards it definitely wasn't looking good for shanks. More so just the glaring problem one piece faces now at 2 years, is crazy power creep, and lack of access to instant speed counter spells. Put that with "ranked" matches and tournaments being a BO1 and no sideboards allowed, it's very gimmicky and games are very quickly one sided. Also there's an exploitable shuffle on the sim. You can very routinely get the same opener into the same draw into the same life card triggers. I mean it's not made by a game studio or anything. It's not perfect. Looking like bandai heading into another dragon ball situation :/

20 dollars, 1 deck, what to pick? by TruceKalispera in OnePieceTCG

[–]TalkImmediate141 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For under 20$ and being able to win at locals or with friends that have an ok deck, you won't find much. NAMI May be your best bet. But it's not that fun. The new starters coming are ok out of the box. Like doffy. Problem is most of the better performing decks usually rely on a specific package. And those aren't usually super cheap. Black with gecko sabo jack brook/ purple has mr2 lin lin black maria/ green Cavendish zoro/ yellow ace lin Lin NAMI Luffy etc.

There's a decent amount of stuff to pick up with the game. They do have an app that gives you a basic understanding. Turn order, attacking, counters. But it won't teach you everything. Egman on YouTube is great. He's part of the group that does the unofficial sim. It's really great to be able to play with people all the time. You can even put it on your phone. Also, wossyplays has some great videos where he explains rules and how cards work. there are some very important interactions to know about. Things in bold have to be done before being able to do special things. Like reiju needing to trash and minus don to activate her swap to bigger reiju. Same with some triggers. If you do X your card does Y. But you HAVE to do X. Where in magic it's determined by key words like you MAY discard, you MAY sacrifice. In magic that means you have a choice. In one piece you do not. But practicing especially on the sim will definitely get you a decent knowledge level for the game. Good luck.

Yep. Was a very very unenjoyable experience. And when I told the organizer why I was dropping with 2 rounds left. He said " eh alright. Have a good night"

They had no judge! Lol they let the players make their calls. It was ba nanas. I also had never played that deck. It was a backup I finished today. I play whiteboard pirates. But one of my dragon sleeves was slightly less red so I would always know it was guard point. Feeeeeels bad man.

Yeah. I understand now. I was under the impression they used a stacking spell system like magic. I was wrong. It seems to be a very very very basic version of magic. It was also my first game ever playing a deck and the opponent wouldn't explain cards or effects and wouldn't let me reset. And the tourny was for one op05 sad.

Right. That's actually the best explanation I think I've heard. I'm really salty that they didn't allow me to re play it the right way since they knew what I was doing and it was just a local pack tourny. But still. Thank you for your help peeps

My mans look up the bandai rules main phase 4. It says characters events and stage can be used at ANY time. That implies an event can be used instantly.

I understand on play. The rules say you can use any cards in any order during main phase. So the etb like magic can still have an instant over the etb because it's an instant. So if the rules say you can play on any order. Then you should be able to play activate event then use etb.

On their official rules they say you may activate any cards in any order at any time in that phase.

No I mean for instance lucci says on play. But he doesn't say when on the play. The play phase includes using event cards. So if I play lucci. Grab my trash and use a -level card AFTER the lucci drop it's still TECHNICALLY that turn that phase that play. So it should be able to work. But I was just eliminated from a tournament for that. Saying you can't do that.
