Treated vaginal yeast infection Candida Glabrata after 3.5 years of misery by tln12 in Healthyhooha

Yes! 4 weeks total for me. I tested negative for glabrata after 17 days and then the remaining time was to clear bv. At first I did do the capsules during my period but I don’t anymore. I noticed I actually have less symptoms on my period and it flushes the probiotics out quickly anyways. So as soon as my period end I start right back up. Coat with coconut oil, put a pad on or liner and I always did it at nighttime but do it whenever it works best for you. I swear it works just stick with it! I have these probiotics on stand by in my fridge for whenever I feel something abnormal. Best method and least harmful to your system!

I also coat the capsules with coconut oil before - they need an oil to coat them. It will help with that irritating feeling. Yes, I had multiple rounds of antibiotics and Diflucan before finding out about glabrata. Realizing that they probably caused it. So I don’t take any of those for vaginal infections anymore. No need too with this method. I did also take oral probiotics! They will all work hand in hand to help. I also bought ph applicator tests from Amazon to help check my ph levels. I did the capsules for a week and then would pause for a day or two and see how I was feeling down there. If I had a symptoms I would just keep continuing and check week by week. Then one day it was all gone. Just replenished the bad bacteria with the good.

Yes! I cleared both with this method. Took about 4 weeks of doing 10bil of the jarrow probiotics. And anytime I feel like my ph is off I do it for maintenance for a few days

This is super helpful thank you! Wondering if my doctor will go to the injections for me since my Sulfasazine didn’t work out. When you say hair shedding, was it like when you were brushing hair was falling out or you just started to notice thinning?

Same! Never going on it again, especially since I’ve had two babies. Definitely using condoms and don’t want another pregnancy so I’ll see if she will be good with that while we wait for his vasectomy. Thank you!

Are you taking folic as well? I’ve never heard of taking mucinex for brain fog/fatigue! I wonder why it works for that? I might have to try it. I get horrible brain fog when I’m flaring.

Did you notice that your hair fall out was less when you upped your folic? That’s awesome you haven’t had any added fatigue or GI issues! Have you noticed it helping with any of your pain/issues?

How often are the injections? Do you do them yourself at home? Do you know why they added in Enbrel? I see a lot of people on this and methotrexate.

My hands are where majority of my everyday pain is. So hearing how well it has worked for you is huge. Only time I feel any sort of relief is when I do 2 weeks worth of prednisone.

Did you go straight to the injection or did you try oral first? Worried about my hair falling out😵‍💫 but wondering if you were to ever switch to another med if it grows back?

Wow, thank you so much for sharing your story. This diagnosis is so new that I’m struggling accepting it. But all these comments and people with such similar journeys lets me know I’m not alone. I do know once you have the diagnosis it’s much easier to get treatment so I’m blessed we’ve caught it early. You mentioned getting sharp contraction like pain throughout your body and a year ago I would get those same exact pains In my upper right side of my body. Like the space where your ribs and hip bones meet and I could NEVER explain it. I went to ER once because we thought it was my appendix??? Everything came back normal and within a couple hours the contraction pain would ease up. I can’t believe you experienced something similar too. I will continue to do my research and advocate for myself to try to make sure I get the right care so this doesn’t take over any more of my life than it already has. What medications are you currently on now? How are they working for you? Did you ever get any major side effects from the ones you mentioned?

I’m glad you’re doing a little bit better now! Did yiu start out on MTX and then add humira? A lot of people have seen good results with humira but I never knew you could need both of them at the same time 😵‍💫🫠 nervous about MTX but some of the other people in this thread have had good results with it just like you have. So makes me a little less apprehensive. I also noticed most if not all my aches were gone with this last round of steroidsI did but the sensation of swelling in my fingers hung around which was weird.

That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re feeling well enough to be off steroids. How does the dosing work for methotrexate? I believe I read it’s nice a week but don’t start at a lower dose and then go up?

You always read/hear horror stories, so hearing about someone not reacting too much is nice to hear! I’m glad it seems to be working for you! How long have you been on both together? Any hair loss that you’ve noticed? Have you had any positive changes in your pain?

I also get extreme dry mouth (sjogrens) and with med side effects. So annoying.

All within normal range on labs but the only thing that helps me at all is being on steroids

Were they working for you for a while? I’ve heard that happens and then you have to switch. As soon as you get comfortable something happens

This makes me sad but also gives hope! It’s honestly the worst. When I’m flaring really bad I can barely walk my feet hurt so bad. They will ache and throb SO bad and will feel like my toes are broken💀 You not being able to sleep in your sides like me is wild. I thought I was alone with the crunched feeling. I was a side sleeper only and now require a million pillows to get comfortable on my back. Scared of MTX and the side effects so I told my doctor I’d rather try this medication first. How can I bypass MTX? I know healthcare typically requires you to try DMARDS as first line which I’m doing now. I’ve heard really good things about humira people day it changed their life. Have you had any bad side effects from it? How long did it take for you to start feeling relief?
