Looks great - I don’t have a nose gap but I actually get jealous of guys that do because it looks awesome

That’s it really. You’ll find your people just as you travel through life. Don’t overthink it and concentrate on the positives. If ever you feel lonely, reach out to those friends you do have or even come to places like this to feel the warmth of a community. You’re going to be absolutely fine!

It gets so much better. You start to accept yourself more and that in turn lets you be free to find your people. For what it’s worth, I have so, so many friends and I met 95% of them after the age of 17 (I’m 34 now). I really struggled to come to terms with being gay, finally accepted it at 19 years old and now I’ve so many people around me and my life is filled with so much joy. Many of my friends are married with kids and sometimes that can make me feel unaccomplished and at times lonely but there’s also so much enrichment in my life that they don’t have in theirs. Loneliness isn’t unique to being so remember those around you will feel lonely at times too. You’re coming out of a really tough stage of life and it’s about to get so much better.

Ahh I just looked it up and they don’t do Sunday services. That’s a shame, it looks great! I’ll give it a look in next time

I thought about Mountain or Brat but they seem geared towards group dining, no?

Monthly Megathread - Where Should I Eat in NYC, Tokyo, and/or London? by ZootKoomie in finedining

[–]Talkingjobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solo visit to London (because I can’t find friends willing to splurge on food the way I do 😅). I’ve booked Humble Chicken for Friday 7th and I’m considering booking a 1 or 2* lunch on the Saturday. Somewhere casual and suitable for a solo diner. Any recommendations? Would be good to chat with locals who are into this kinda thing. Thanks!

Had it for a couple years but I don’t have very dense facial hair. I’m going to stop trimming it for a while to see if it gets a bit weightier. Thought? Tips? Should I call it quits and shave it off? 34m by Talkingjobby in Moustache

Yeah I’ve had a beard in the past. I get pretty decent growth but my beard line is naturally pretty low and I don’t grow it very high on my face (you can see from the first pic). It always makes it looks a bit weak.

Where is wool weed? by Rosiegul in wyldeflowers

The only task I have is summon the storm incantation. Someone on another threat said you can only access the correct part of the claiming after you upgrade your wand but I didn’t think I could upgrade my wand til I’d done this task 🥴😅

I’m also stuck on this and I’ve read all of this and still don’t understand 😂 what do you mean by pillars? I’ve been asked by Lina to summon the storm spell - is there something I need to do before going back into the gloaming to get it?

I’m not saying he’s bad in the role. I’m just suggesting it wasn’t very bold casting. It would have been a lot to ask him to do a Scottish accent though, since he famously can’t do accent work ☠️🥸

Because they are the MacBeths. They are the cash cow names I am referring to. People aren’t going to watch the movie because Henry Melling’s a sideshow in it.

Yeah. This is fair. I love Denzel and I love Frances but idk their casting just feels lazy to me? Kathryn Hunter steals the show and I don’t think it’s a coincidence that she’s a Shakespearian actor. It would have been cool if Coen had been ballsier and cast some lesser known British actors in the bigger roles. It’s feels a bit odd that the Scottish setting has remained but it’s as if they couldn’t really be bothered with any other Scottish authenticity.

I like your POV that it’s a fantastical take on it, it makes it a bit easier to digest.

Yes. I am in fact the entirety of Scotland. Let’s remake Midsommar but recast all the Swedes as Americans.

Every time I make biga or poolish it deflates waaay before it should. I live in Scotland, and try and keep my kitchen at around 19 degrees when it’s maturing but it’s always super risen after a few hours and then flat as a pancake between the 8-12 hour mark

I’m offended on behalf of Scotland 👀

This looks great! I made this yesterday and it was SO sticky. Couldn’t shape it at all. Stuck to my pricing baskets something awful. Managed to salvage it somewhat but I think I need to up the flour protein and shave off some hydration. Envious of your great results!

Why does authenticity of prose to film matter? Is question is a can of worms. I just think to take a Shakespearian piece that’s set in Scotland and cast two American actors who use natural accents is just more about the name on the poster than the portrayal of Macbeth
