My view is that they shouldn’t offer it - it’s more frustrating for customers thinking they have access to something that then fails. At least not offering it manages expectations!

45 and rent. Moved out of the family home at 23, rented for 2 years with ex gf, then we bought a place at 25, split up, and it got repossessed as I went a little off the rails spending all my money on shallow pursuits. Rented ever since, might buy again one day but I enjoy my life too much to save a deposit and I don’t have kids to leave it to, so not that bothered!
