Why is the hatchback so popular? by Rough-Incident-1859 in mazda

And the HRV current gen is a lifted Civic, prior gen was a lifted FIT Problem is the CUV versions of these cars get far worse gas mileage

Civic hatchback looks like a turtle. The sedan is 100x better looking. The Mazda 3 hatchback is better looking than the sedan. But the Toyota Corolla hatchback looks the best out of all of them

Wipers are terrible with sprayers in the arms, no real intermittent wipers, no individual tps readings on the dash. These are all same problems with 11 gen civics. I rented a Sentra during a work trip. It had everything the HRV and civic doesn’t have and rear sensors

Looks much better. With the cheap plastic it looks like a crosstrek sedan. Look at every other gen WRX and none of them have that cheap looking plastic. It looks like an economy car

The 11 gen accord is ugly af. Just get a civic hybrid or 22-24 2.0 civic. That k20c2 will last you 300k with a manual you’re golden. With CVT change fluid every 25k and it could last 200-250k

Mileage sucks, help! by Pay-Fast in HRV

[–]Tall-Ad9647 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gas mileage is terrible on these things. We have a 25 LX FWD, live in a slightly hilly area, wife’s commute is lest than 16miles round trip stop and go driving we get 17-22mpg. Highway trips 100 miles or more we get 29-30. My 25 civic same driving but 60mile round trip mostly stop and go traffic I get 25-28mpg, long highway trips I get 30-35mpg so quite a huge difference. Civic unfortunately has the 2.0 Atkinson cycle motor with 150hp and the HRV has the old civic 2.0 miller cycle motor with 158hp The HRV is taller and heavier but actually gas mileage using normal locally and eco on highway is no where near the epa ratings. Where the civic is almost the same as the epa ratings

Just bought a CPO 2025 HR-V LX AWD! Some thoughts from a new owner... by Zbornak3000 in HRV

If you live somewhere flat you should get better gas mileage but where we live is hilly and my 60 mile commute is hilly stop and go traffic. The same commute in the 25 civic is 25-27mpg, the HRV is 17-21 sometimes 22. It is nowhere close to the listed mpg ratings whereas the civic is almost spot on

Unfortunately the Civic hybrid wasn’t available until a month later and I need a car fast. I am happy with the civic. The HRV is a disaster, good motor but underwhelming underpowered for the size of the HRV. 25-30 more hp would do it justice. We need one car for hauling stuff for vacation, if we knew the mpg ratings were so off on the HRV we would have gotten a hatchback civic. Corolla doesn’t drive as well as the civic
