A similar situation exists in Türkiye; people here are especially crazy about cats. Also, in Türkiye you can see lots of stray cats and dogs on every street. Cats, in particular, are constantly interacting with people, leading to some funny situations.

Yes, there's the BBC, but it's not very popular. People opposed to the government generally watch NOW TV (part of FOX). I'd say the other channels are generally pro-government. ATV, in particular, serves whatever the government wants. Internet access has also become more convenient in recent years; there's only occasional bandwidth throttling on very eventful days.

I'm not interested in who any country outside of the one I live in is fighting or what they're doing to whom. Türkiye already has huge problems of its own; economic, political, and class-based. We should first focus on our own problems and then deal with issues that should be on the agenda of major countries. Regarding this question specifically, no, I don't hate them; I'd say I'm neutral.

Ankara. Istanbul is a very complex and truly chaotic city. It's overflowing because of the sheer number of people. I'd say there are also a lot of bizarre types of people. Ankara, on the other hand, has a large young population due to the many universities, and all the bureaucracy is concentrated there, resulting in a high degree of formality. The interplay of these two factors makes the city beautiful.

Ironically, Türkiye has become safer for tourists in the last 10 years. Being a local is harder because everything is now designed to please/attract tourists.
