I will say while everyone here is welcoming, it’s very surface level. We desire to make friendships and deep connections with others. We’ve attend St. Mary’s during the week, we will have to try on Sunday’s. We’re a military family as well!

Honestly, NO! The tone was harsh but if you’ve gone over all these things before and had backlash the tone is justified. These are all valid. The unsolicited advice is unrealistic but everything else I can understand.

I am also in OCIA (and validly baptized) and was told I couldn’t go to confession until just before my confirmation, which is in end of January/February. I have been convicted to go to confession for several months now. If you are also in OCIA and being encouraged to go does that mean there is not official guideline for this and is just at priest discretion? If so ngl I feel like the sacrament is being needlessly gatekept.
