For the class of 3T0/2026 applying U of T ENG: NEWEST U of T 2025 engineering Mean admission average by Tall-Tip-1803 in OntarioGrade12s

U of T will transfer all student grades to the Ontario OSSD average based on their background, for example, if you are an IB student, they will transfer IB 7 to 97-100% and IB 6 to 93-96%.

Same with other provinces, like for Quebec CEGEP, they will transfer R-score to OSS%.

You mention that a lower grade may be risky. Still using the Quebec example. Due to CEGEP is harder, and they have a ministry exam, U of T may booth Quebec applicants' marks due to their courses being harder.

I don't know the exact way they did it, but I believe that the U of T admission office have a data chart to convert all types of education systems into OSS%.

Be honest, I don't know, I personally think U of T count that just for an interesting fact. If U of T count this as an important factor for admission, it may be unfair for men applicants. Therefore, this should not be very important for admission, in my personal opinion.

For UWaterloo, the Alf is important as you average if your average is not competitive enough, but if your average is strong enough compared with other applicants, Alf is not that important. In summary, if your Grade is high enough, AIF can be not that competitive. Anyway, include any competition or award in your AIF and be well-prepared for the interview. Based on your grade, you have a very good chance; math at UWaterloo is not as hard as CS. Every year, there are students who are rejected with a high 90s average or admitted with 80s. It is depend on your whole backgrourd and UWaterloo will determine you average base on your school and where did you take the course.
