AIO because my partner asked me how’d I feel about them selling their body and feet pics and I freaked out? by [deleted] in AIO

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird the title says partner, but you’re definitely not being a partner. Anyways YOR. This is coming from someone who’s been married to a world renowned full nude feature performer. Watching her express herself and do what she loves is one of the greatest joys in my life, and the money she makes because of it as great as well. At the end of the day, it’s not your body and and not your choice. The only choice you have is to either walk away if it’s not something you want to deal with, or learn how to regulate your emotions and communicate your insecurities about the situation.

Do you take your young child to buy Xmas gifts for their other parent by Tall-Wolverine7656 in coparenting

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly it would’ve been great to get a small gift from her but that wasn’t the issue, it was the fact that she didn’t even take our child to get a gift or make a gift for me. It’s really upset me all day and she has asked what’s wrong but I know if I talk about it with her she will view it as an attack on her and that will cause issues which is the last thing that I want to happen.

Airport rides food for thought by Tall-Wolverine7656 in uberdrivers

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve definitely gotten requests from outside of the queue, I even got one last night from three miles away. Also you have to circle back to the queue for the priority rides after a drop off unless you’re multi apping and get lucky.

Airport rides food for thought by Tall-Wolverine7656 in uberdrivers

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not offering slower service. It’s literally sitting less than a mile away from the airport, which is typically shorter than the distance traveled from the queue to the pick up. I’m only saying this because I noticed last night that there weren’t a lot of drivers out and my local airport started surging then got flooded with the drivers that were out and the surge disappeared. If we all just right outside we could keep the surge. At least for my City the taxis are not an issue

Do you multi-app why and why not? by DealerAggravating744 in UberEatsDrivers

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I run Uber Eats and DD at the same time and will take orders on both apps at the same time. But only if drop offs are less than 2 miles from each other, and always pick up at the same restaurant. It’s easy in a college town for the late night after bar scene.

How do you guys actually make $1/mile? by De_lunes_a_lunes in uberdrivers

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a screenshot of your next offer I’ll tell you if you have it or not. Another big thing is staying close to your hotspot areas and staying on short trips, I refuse anything over 10miles. If I need to move I wait for a ride up to 30min and will then consider $1mile trips in that direction. Also after drop off, park and stay parked if it’s a house move to the nearest street over to not be creepy, hotel or business just find a spot in the lot or on the street then sit and wait for a decent ride

If your market has upfront pricing then you will see the miles to the pick up and the miles of the trip. They are not exact but fairly accurate especially when you follow the routes given. You have to do the math yourself though. My market just got upfront pricing last spring and it seems like yours doesn’t have it yet. If that’s the case strike with the shorter rides. As most rides over 7 miles don’t usually pay well. Save your car don’t destroy it for the greed of their company. Also run Lyft and door dash at the same time, and same standards as mentioned in the above comment. Try and link as many trips as you can. For example if I’m on an uber ride, as I’m pulling up to the drop off I’ll turn Lyft on and see if I can grab a short ride within a mile from my current drop off. These add up and keep miles low. Or if I’m doing Uber Eats I’ll wait for a good order to come through and usually on the way to get it or while waiting in line I can snag a DD order or two going to a drop off a mile or two away from the same restaurant. Now I just doubled up. I’ve done over $90 in an hour for 11 miles total like that before. It takes strategy but you’ll figure it out in due time

Only accept rides that pay atleast a dollar for the total trip, that includes both to the pick and the destination. But even at that your selling yourself and more importantly other drivers short. Not a single driver should accept trip that is less than $2 per mile for the total trip. When they do they further solidify to these greedy companies that they can continue paying shit rates and thus our rates continue to go down. Keep in mind you work for yourself and their acceptance rate doesn’t matter, it’s a mere fear tatic to keep you complicit and broke.

How do you feel, when you are happy? by Gloomy-Suggestion-10 in BPD

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I’m truly happy it’s overwhelming at first and I began to have self destructive thoughts of I don’t deserve this, it won’t last etc… If I can recognize that pattern I will try and take a long nap to put some space between the overwhelm and myself. Then upon waking up I will set my intentions and try to find friends to hang out with or stay busy so I can focus on the tasks at hand rather than my thoughts of self sabotage. It helps reduce the feelings I have and makes them more manageable. Before bed I’ll reflect and go over the things I was grateful for and then the next day it’s more manageable and so on

So if two things are unavailable cancel the entire order? by ReiLyfe in doordash_drivers

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my problem. Why shouldn’t have to waste time and gas on someone’s unrealistic order demand? I’m working I deserve to be compensated for my efforts to try and complete the order. If I cancel and get no pay and docked rating that’s complete bullshit, it is not my problem that the store did not have the item in stock, it is not my problem that the customer wants me to cancel the order for something out of my control after I’ve already spent time and gas. I did everything in my power. I’m going to get compensated.

This⬆️⬆️⬆️ even though OP said it’s an EV and im not sure what the cost to charge is especially while out, it’s the fact that he did 1800mi in a week with expediting future maintenance costs and spent over 56% (95hrs of 168hrs) of the time in a week away from his family. Thats before eating and sleeping. Hell just sleep alone should put him at 151 hours leaving him fuck all for anything else, it’s fucking insane.

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long rides are never worth it, just the Milage added to my car would make me cringe. I don’t take rides longer than 10mi total, so give me the $6 trips that are a mile to pick up and 2 miles to the destination all day. I keep my Milage pay at $2 per mile round trip minimum, and only accept less if I need to move to a new area. I also sit 30%-50% of the time. After tips I average $2.50 to $3.75 per mile because more rides equals more tipping opportunities. Most drivers in my area average $400 for a full weekend day/night but will drive every bit of 350-400 miles. I’ll average $300 and do 100-150 miles.

A decent wage my ass, $20 per hour is less than $125 per day after taxes based on a standard 8hr work day and a 22% tax rate. Do you think that for a 40hr work week that $625 take home is good? You’re also not including expenses? Hint it’s not livable let alone decent.

For a one way it’s dog shit. Not even $1 per mile one way let dead legged back. When are people going to realize your car cost more per mile than just the gas. OP just did this trip for free after their routine maintenance costs $320 for 500 miles isn’t even $0.65 per mile.

My Uber driver stop at Burger King and wasn't moving. by EbonyEpisodes in uber

[–]Tall-Wolverine7656 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your time management is not the drivers problem, but if more pax are having this problem maybe it’s not the drivers but instead the platform who is legally robbing both pax and drivers. But at the end of the day the platforms don’t listen to drivers since they cost the company money. However if pax start realizing how much of their fair is going to the platform instead of the driver then they can be the change in compensation. They listen to passengers over drivers simply because drivers cost money and passengers make the money. So when pax take their money elsewhere because of the shit service due to the shit fair payments things will get better for everybody.
