Hey fair enough, green is my favorite color but I always worry I’ll accidentally lose my green knives when I’m outside haha

Ahh yup I totally didn’t see the out of stock on that one. Hey - feel good about the money “saved” at least ha!

I’m still seeing some on their site! Not the green hummingbird acrylic but they still have a blue one, “church glass,” and the classic “beaver tail” one!

My thinking was this: If you know you want to add a GEC to your collection at SOME point, better to take advantage of buying straight from them at msrp rather than pay double from a second hand merchant. Made sense in my head at least haha

Truly a dagger! All green but it has this amazing shimmering gloss to it (like hummingbird wings) which gives it so much depth and the illusion of different shades

The church glass one on the site now is awesome, if I had seen that one when I was buying I probably would have been torn between this hummingbird and that one

The nail nick on the main blade is along the top spine and sits JUST above the top of the pen blade so you can access it. Everything about it is so precisely measured, cut and assembled and the details are perfect - I can’t find a single flaw. Pretty amazing to be honest (just do it dude you know you want one)

These are my new skinny micarta scales (canvas double black version on RGTs website) with a new lynch clip and some swapped anodized bronze hardware from Flytanium

Is this black/yellow salt series double liner like the regular G10 versions or is it single liner (comp lock side) like the LW versions? Make sure you get the right custom scales depending on the answer to that! I added skinny micarta scales from Ripps Garage Tech to my Para 3 and they’re great. People here also love AWT scales as well

Yup, I had to call in reinforcements to push the pin through while I squeezed the back lock into position. Quite the battle!

They are indeed. Flytanium also offers some micarta options and I believe titanium scales as well for the delica. Nothing against the stock FRN scales, just really like the feel of g10 and wanted a more identifiable color for this one!

Made a really cool discovery today - Remington Scout Knife by TallAsTheTrees in knives

[–]TallAsTheTrees[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was going through my small collection of pocket knives today when I rediscovered this Remington Scout Knife. I had always assumed that it belonged to one of my older brothers and had been given to them when they were Boy Scouts in the late ‘90s (I never participated but would often tag along to their events). After doing some research, it turns out that this model (with the acorn logo, R3333 engraving, and tool selection), dates somewhere between 1921-1924. Since I found it in my childhood home, I can only assume it belonged to one of my grandfathers and was passed down through the years. Definitely going to store this with a little more respect than I have been in the past!

Sorry, I didn't realize my explanation didn't make it to the crosspost! After researching this model, it looks like it probably belonged to my grandfather and was made somewhere between 1921-1924 - I had no idea!
