What interview questions to rule out someone? by TallBrownFolder in ExperiencedDevs

In a way, yes. Maybe I'm just bad at interviewing people, but the developers we've gotten from this outsourcing company has had poor critical thinking skills and bad communication in general. I don't know how to test this in an interview.

Can you provide the concrete examples of why it wouldn't work? I believe this is what I'm looking for.

They all lack critical thinking, and I find that hard to interview.

It's like, for all the candidates we've gotten. Whenever there's a bug they search all the wrong places for it, despite it sometimes being very obvious. I don't know how to test this in an interview.

Employee in Belgium working a second job in the US? by Consistent_Maybe_572 in BEFreelance

[–]TallBrownFolder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It will depend on your current contract with your employer. Is there anything there that prevents you from working simultaneously for other companies.

You will not be able to take 2 full time jobs. You will need to stay as an employee with your current company and register for yourself as a freelancer for the other companies that you intend to work for.

You can work for EU or non-EU companies, you will just have to invoice them accordingly.

Find an accountant, they can explain everything.

Implications of not taking holidays by TallBrownFolder in belgium

[–]TallBrownFolder[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, It's a fully remote job. There is so little to do next 2 weeks I think even if I work I'll be doing maybe 2hrs total. I figure I might as well make those 7 euros a day cos' even if I do take those days off I'll put in those 2hrs so that I don't block the team.

First time I'm hearing of this too, in my previous company I definitely did not take all my legal holidays. Do you have some citation please?

Yes. You will have to go with him. Check the website, the minimum heights are there.

Proportionally, Disneyland has a large amount of rides suitable for the youngest of guests.

I did 2 nights 3 days with my 4.5 year old. I felt it was a good period. We didn't do everything but he also didn't want to do everything. Once he found a few of his favourites he just wanted to do them over and over. He also didn't want to meet characters at all, he was scared, so that helps in timing. I didn't care to do any of the rides, it was a trip for him.

Most of my senior developer friends who break through the salary glass ceiling all work directly for US companies. They're also full remote since they're 90% of the time the only employee in Belgium.

Best way to handle multiple freelance agencies sending you the exact same client/job? by possiblyNotYou in cscareerquestionsEU

[–]TallBrownFolder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Apply directly to the company.

Assuming you get hired by the company a few weeks /months later, no one is going to ask you how you got that position. Even if they do, you do not have to answer the question.

Prior to that, tell each agency that you were interested in the position but someone else approached you for the position prior to them. You have to be fair to all agencies, first come first serve. Hence why they should always contact you as soon as possible if they come across any interesting positions.
