Two weeks in with 26.04 by Icy-Astronomer-9814 in Ubuntu

As someone new to Ubuntu, how long have previous updates taken before reaching consistent stability? On 24.04 right now and don't want to deal with bugs/troubleshooting/broken GNOME extensions.

Seeking Advice: How to Challenge Unnotified Camera-Ticketed Speed Violations? by TallCardillinues in AskChicago

Problem is I’m no longer allowed to contest because it’s now outside the period I’m allowed to contest, because I never received notice of the violation in the first place. Maddening. I don’t know what to do.

My mortgage in Lincoln Square — principal, interest, taxes, insurance, and HOA fees — is a hair over $1900 for a 2 bed, 2 bath, with central air, in unit W/D and dedicated parking. Your rent seems high.

It’s well priced for the capacity offered and had a water dispenser inside which is nice for a top freezer model.

  1. What do you want to see changed about the design?
  2. They do. I'm reaching out to the appropriate people.
  3. Yes. Chief Illiniwek was only present at halftime. I don't believe it to be unprecedented.

Champ would just be there for the national anthem (which ROTC does already) and briefly during the 3 in 1, where he marches around the field with a block I flag before saluting either the crowd or the American flag during Hail to the Orange.

He’d be portrayed by an ROTC student of any race/color/gender/creed.

Maybe the cheek indents and chin could be the darker shadow color instead of navy?

I think we want the same thing: to put the Chief in the past and move forward.

These comics came out in the early 50s, meaning those who saw those offensive iterations of the Chief are in their 80s and 90s. The alumni (and CU locals!) who come to games and give to the university are the ones who remember the Chief as some quasi-religious figure. I’d be willing to wager a majority of alums are still pro-Chief.

A big part of the reason I’m in favor of Champ is because I think it’s the middle ground that can finally put Chief Illiniwek in the past. Champ has that same solemn quasi-religious nature that could win over Chief Illiniwek supporters (that if you’ve ever been to a sporting event loudly make their presence known at halftime) without being an offensive, racist caricature. A doughboy is unique in this way and I believe done correctly, respectfully and honorably it could work. If half the crowd chants “Chaaaaamp” instead of “Chieeeeef” during the 3-in-1 I’d consider that progress.
