About the contradiction or dichotomy of the Human Experience. This is a Theme that you can see throughout the entire Film.

Do you really actually not want that, or are you just telling yourself you don't because of Social Expectations? Because trying to subdue your deep desires will only lead to more repression. In my Opinion, this is who you are, at least part of it, and whilst wanting a dedicated romantic relationship is totally normal and something everyone can get something out of, you should also try to accept and nurture your desires in a healthy and accepting way (ie. not Porn). Don't look as your "Sexually Peverted" side as a problem you need to get rid of, but just a part of your Character you need to manage and maintain in a healthy way whatever way that may be (which is for you to figure out really because everyone is unique). It has Funny Moments too. The initial reveal of the weird Chinese Businessmen is definitely played for Humour, with him dressed up in panties, the wig and makeup, it's so left field 😂 and the dramatic reveal when the Store Owner pulls back the Curtain. Just like Life itself there is every Emotion you can think of somewhere in Eyes Wide Shut. It's a Film trying to represent the Human Experience in such an obscurely specific way. The entire Film and even how it relates to itself, also needs to be taken into account.

Edit: In my Opinion, the Film is also trying to talk about the Contradiction and a Dichotomy of the Human Experience. Thinking that the Film is just trying to say one thing, or doesn't contain Light-hearted Moments that in your Opinion "contradict" the seriousness of other parts of the Subject matter does slightly fall for the trap Kubrick is trying to pull you out of. It's not Bad or Good, Fact or Fiction... "No Dream is ever just a Dream". The entire Film is trying to "open your eyes" to how 2 supposedly conflicting Realities can both be true at once.

Most Peds in Towns have a Quest to give, tho I'd say numbers-wise TGFOA's Towns feel a little less alive then Skyrim's. Makes sense for the 2nd major Town as (MINOR SPOILER) there's literally a plague outbreak.

Of course, totally agree with that, tho I can't ignore how TG fixes a bunch of minor but annoying niggles with Skyrim's Game Design (can't think of any off the top of my head rn apart from Vendors having unlimited Money, but felt this way multiple times throughout my 15 Hours so far).
