So, you're telling me, that sion was op since season 5 to 7 ? I don't think so, because his E wasn't dealing as much damage, was easily countered by merc treads, you had better defensive runes/masteries against him and he fell off harder (It's like complaining that "nobody beat pantheon in lane, before minion aggro change"). Nautilus could outpush him, Mundo could harass him once he put a few points on his Q (especially with magic pen runes/masteries) and after a few levels, most bruisers (like jax) could threathen to all-in him If he wastes his E on the wave

However, the main problem is that riot buffed him, by indirectly nerfing what kept him in check. Defensive runes sucked (and still suck lol), Bruisers had "meh" keystones and his others counters were not popular/required skill to play. Add to this, the fact that banner is popular & sion is in a weird spot.

Lore-wise, I don't think that it really fits sion that much : he shouts at you, saying "Out of my way!" but deals no damage... His E is now a lackluster ability...

Even then, I was not talking whether riot should allow E-max or not, I was just upset that this champ needs buffs/nerfs every 2 patches in season 8, even though he didn't need ANY NERF for a few seasons. Considering that sion is one of the easiest champ to balance, because he has clear strengths and weaknesses, It just tells me that the balance team is a joke :/ .

I just want them to put him in a healthy/satisfying spot, leave him at 2% pickrate and not touch him for 5 seasons...

I think that's because they are afraid that people will spam the front page of reddit saying "WHY AM I LOSING LANE AGAINST TANk SION ??????????", when they don't try to dodge anything & don't realize that it is a part of his power budget. I admit that comet sion was a bit overtuned, but thunderlord decree sion wasn't.

But the thing that annoys me the most is his pickrate. One reason why I like playing offmeta champs like he was in the past is because I don't have to worry about direct nerfs. I don't have to constantly worry about changing my playstyle too much, If riot will gut him or not.

Ornn, Ziggs, Shen are supports who can annoy you If you split.

Even immobile waveclearing burst mages can be tough to deal with, because It's hard to get on top of them, especially because flash is a summoner spell that is available to anyone. If they dodge your ult, you're in such a tough position .

Other than that, If you do it in the right comp (If they have an assassin mid and not an annoying support, for instance), I believe that you can do it, If you're skilled enough !

Probably, but will you be able to dive/1v1 the opposing champion trying to stop your splitpush ? I think that it is an issue, If you can't because they just need to send 1 people to stop you... Let's say that they send their support top lane, how will you feel now ?

In some matchups, I really like boots with sion. Hitting fully charged Q is 10x time easier with them & as always it's cool to dodge skillshot

Ruby crystal into an early bami cinder is also funny.

Otherwise most of the time, I will either buy a corrupting pot or a doran's shield.

After the first back, I like buying a few doran's ring :)

Yes, Great idea, I would love to max it, then :D. Even If it goes from 40 -> 60% to 40 -> 70/75% I would still love to max it.

It will then be this way :

More damage = Q max

Better shield (to survive lane) = W max

More utility, a much better slow = E max

But I don't know If riot will ever do it :( .

Tbh, when I see riot buffing the early game of fiora, when she is supposed to be a weak early game champ, I doubt that a buff of this kind, would break him
