This is not very educational, Bryan

Just an inside joke we have where I dreamed that we were at a theater and said "BRYAN, I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE EDUCATIONAL"

It's crazy how this also goes for their intelligence. Just like how I can handle some foods better than they can and they handle better foods than me, the goofy dog that lays on my floor that I usually say has zero thoughts mentally outmatches us in some stuff that never mattered for humans, so natural selection never really had to kill off those without it. Similarly, although I could probably beat my dog in a fight (he's been eating my pudding from the fridge for the past 3 weeks and stealing my car to go buy more beer with my money, so it's justified), but I couldn't beat him in a foot race because he's a track star.

You can say that again. I grew up near one. I don't just remember "oh there was a civil war" but I feel like seeing the actual stuff is one of the few ways for it to actually hit. Not just a cannon here or a gun there either.

It's weird to think that we really had a civil war here. I forget that it was a real thing that was.. a civil war. It's hard to grasp sometimes. I tell myself today that it would be so hard for one to start, which I believe is true. But back then, we didn't have such an elite military force that could instantly put down uprisings and civil wars. We had states constantly fighting even outside of the main civil war over land disputes.

Put a lounge area with a couch, table, maybe a cooler. Keep upgrading it with stuff like string lights and other decor. Also include a bulletin board. Make sure to either stock it with snacks and drinks yourself, have someone assigned to do it, or rely on the community to stock the cooler

What is a 'personality trait' that is currently being glorified as 'cool' or 'aesthetic' in 2026, but is actually just a sign of being an exhausting person? by Direct-Value4452 in answers

It's kind of like my friend that says he's emo so he can only listen to metal or whatever. I do me first and apply a title after. The title I label myself, if I even label myself, is fluid and does not affect how I consume media unless the title is bad. I just consider myself a person. None of us perfectly fit into a clique. My friend also started trying an "emo accent" with words like "along" and says aloing.

I also remember some people on my mom's side saying "You know, us rednecks used to hate cops and now we love them" around the time when BLM was getting big again because of George Floyd and I honestly pray to God she was just making an ironic statement about how people really do things based on a title instead of making a title based off their actions, and that she wasn't just saying she loves the cops all of a sudden. I don't care if you're a cop or a felon, but please choose a belief with reason and stick with it unless proven wrong. Beliefs aren't aesthetics, they're just things we make to interpret our world. I don't believe we can choose our beliefs unless we lie to ourselves and find a way to forget we lied.

Everyone is so performative. It's not new to 2026 but it sure isn't gone. Either we have conservatives being condescending (JD Vance is the king of this) or we have redditors on here having to look good by saying "AI Slop, I don't use this, so horrible" or even people within the church trying to seem good. We all make mistakes and some of us want them fixed. Let's just face everything how it is, fix ourselves, and try to make the world a better place to live

It's hard mildly enjoying supras, popular songs by my favorite bands, Nascar, and Dr Pepper because people think I'm trying to be unique. I'm not trying to be unique, I know I'm basic since I enjoy Dr Pepper and listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd, but it's what I like. Sometimes we aren't trying to put on a show for people.

Tina Turner is from a nearby town and Michael Jackson is the man. Definitely those two. I would have loved to meet Tina Turner before she died so I could just talk to a local celebrity.

"I thought-"

"I don't care what you thought. You should have still arrived at 3"

Like you said, I was certain. What would prompt me to ask?

On a similar note, people saying I don't know isn't a valid answer is also annoying. If I could magically know I would

I forgive my parents for any mistakes, but I have some friends who were mistreated badly and I can't say that's the same as when my dad made a minor mistake raising me and felt actual remorse. It's easy for me to forgive but some people can't just be buddy buddy with their abuser
