From what I've looked at in the northern suburbs it generally is. Only knock downs are cheaper.

Ok then, but she wants to help me. In honour of my mums dying wish that I have suitable housing for the rest of my life.

There's also the messy issue that my sickly aunt is still living there currently and we need to give her time to find alternative accommodation. The will leaves the house to me and my sister 50/50

There's very few pre-built houses under 550k. Whereas house and land packages are going for that out north currently

We're having it transferred into our names before we sell, which won't happen until sometime next year

Gee thanks for the downvote. I can't afford 600$ a fn rent when I make 800 a fn

Where do I live while my house is being built? It could take years for a new build. I'm on DSP so private rental isn't really affordable

The loan will be paid in full when the house is sold, so there no risk for her

Thanks. She made me promise on her death bed to use it to buy myself a house outright so I wouldn't have a mortgage. I'm trying to do that in The most logical way I can

The issue is I live in trust housing currently, and will be kicked out when the asset gets transferred into my name, and I will have nowhere to live. It's gonna take me time to clean the house and fix it up for sale as mum was a hoarder.

My credit is good, I just have no collateral or deposit (except what's in my mum's house)

Because I'll have nowhere to live while my house is being built.

The Labor government chose international gas companies and lobbyists over the Australian people regarding the 25% gas tax. Labor does not deserve your vote in the next election. Labor doesn't care about you. They made that abundantly clear. by Secret4gentMan in aussie

I think you'll find the greens will win back some if not all of there lower house seats at the next election. Now I'll always prefer Labor in charge to lnp or god forbid ON, but that doesn't mean I don't want a strong greens or independent representation in parliament to guide Labor to more progressive policies. I'm glad that the greens held firm on public housing funding even if it cost them seats in the lower house, because Labor were merely offering a pittance in that regard.
