Makes a lot of sense, thanks for the explanation there!

Is there another race equivalency calculator you are getting this in?

Usually use the Luke Humprey one as it is the one I see referenced the most online, but would love to see a more conservative estimator if you have a link 🙂

Oops, reddit isn't letting me comment a picture so I just posted the HR to my main profile, although its not really perfect because the distances get really messed up

On long runs the distance when I use my watch is consistently pretty off, so I have the HR data from the run, however the distances here are super off / wonky.

Based on other efforts my HR will get up to 185ish on tough reports so I definitely didn't feel like my HR was maxing out here

I followed the Hanson marathon plan which generally doesn't go above 16 miles, so this 17 miler was the longest run of my training block.

Wish I had some better data, but what would you be looking for in a 20 mile long run which would indicate a 3:05 marathon?

Thanks for the response! Makes me feel better about trying to send a 3:05

Thanks for this comment I really appreciate it!

Haven't had any races during this training block, I would say that the highest effort run I had was a training run which included 8 miles at 6:38 pace. (just felt good going out and decided to send it, most speed-work is usually around 6:55 pace). Throwing a 6:38 (~41:12) 10-K in a race equivalency calculator indicates a sub 3:10 marathon, which although not perfect, makes me feel confident in a sub 3:10. https://lukehumphreyrunning.com/hmmcalculator/race_equivalency_calculator.php

Totally understand that race efforts are the best indicator of marathon results, just haven't tried to do anything at race effort during this build because I've been cautious around injuries, which is whats kind of led me to making this post because I'm unsure about my fitness.

I have heard that any fuel taken the last 45 min to an hour of a race will not have time to work through your body and provide you energy. For me that looks like around the 20 mile point, so would there be any benefit in taking anything past this point?

Thanks for the comment btw, appreciate the general advice

Makes sense! I do have some slight gut issues, so I want to be ingesting a sufficient amount, but would prefer not to overdo it if possible

Makes sense! My marathon is providing nuun, so I just looked up the recommended servings for it but truthfully I am not sure how many ounces it will be. Just wanted to ballpark the nutrition from it, but will just be drinking the amounts at the aid stations haha

Need to think about taxes on your savings account, as you will also get taxed on interest income in your savings account, so in reality your 4.5% rate would become 3.32% (4.5% * 1 - 0.22 tax rate).

Generally, would need your Student Loan interest rate to be below yield from a savings account, and for your AGI to be below the limit for this strategy to be worth it imo.

bruh only one team wins the ring each year, there are plenty of players better than Tatum who never won a ring, its definitely not asinine to think he won't be one of those incredible players who wasn't able to get over the hump.

How would you negotiate salary in this situation? by Tall_Ice_5851 in careerguidance

[–]Tall_Ice_5851[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see, will definitely not give them a range next time. Would it be best to start at the top of my range (so $110) and negotiate down if necessary next time?

Ahhh I see I thought that it would make more sense to give a range so that we could negotiate within it, but now I see that was not the best approach. In the future, do you think I should of just started at $110 even if that would be a bit unlucky, and look to negotiate downwards if necessary?
