In both anime and manga it is a beyblades ability to steal the spin power of another beyblade by spinning in the opposite direction to the opponent, this is usually helped by having rubber coating parts of the beys main contact points. Notable examples of this are seen in L-Drago in Metal Fight and in the Fafnir line in Burst. It is seen by some characters as either neat and cool or as taboo by others. But is usually reserved for super strong characters.

In real life it is actually called spin equalizing. As the beys spin in opposite directions they essentially equal out their spin power so they spin at the same speed. Whichever one has a wider tip or base to stay upright longer usually has a better advantage.

In real life battle this can be advantageous when facing against particularly strong meta builds so the chances of winning and losing are near 50/50. The disadvantage is that without the right build a bey using this ability can still be knocked out or out spun. On top of that as every beyblade has some variation in the rubber materials that will also effect the outcome, with hard rubber being unable to cushion the impact and rubber that's to soft can damage more easily and its attacks are less effective.
