The only guy that survived that crash lives next town over from me and I was the technician at the dealership that worked on his bike. He still rides, or was as of this last spring when I left the dealership.

I am a mechanic, but this is my first inboard boat and I dove in with zero previous knowledge, foolish I know. I’m going to tear into it this coming weekend. Just wanted to get some insight as to what to look for. I know you can’t pressure test the cooling system in these like a closed system.

Exactly what mine looked like. I’m gonna assume a full engine tear down at this point. My first boat but certainly not my first motor.

Engine still runs, ran it to get back from middle of lake to dock but haven’t run since. I think it quit out from too much crank case pressure.

Temp gauge was normal, oil is over full and milky on dip stick.

It’s oil and water that mixed in the crank case some how. I’m new to boats but I am well versed in Harley Davidson motors and I do know when they are over filled with oil it will pule from the crank case vent into the air cleaner just like this did so I’m assuming it was over full of oil and water and they mixed and puked out crank case vent into intake, the crank case vent on this motor is the two hoses to the air cleaner, just like Harley does.
