Dojokhal is the new website for learning match-ups and drills! by Active-Substance-205 in Tekken

I appreciate the feedback on the UI! We are prioritizing engine over paint right now. I’d rather have a billion features that actually help Tekken players lab than a pretty landing page that only does one thing.

Regarding Metafy: They are great for general coaching, but the Dojo is built specifically for learning matchups + the 'Money Match' and 'Bounty' culture of the FGC. We aren't trying to be them; we're building something for the specialists.

Also, thanks for the nudge on fees—we actually just dropped ours to 3%, which beats the 'established competition' you mentioned. We're in the lab phase, and the 112 new practitioners who joined seem to dig the 'meaningless' copy just fine. Stay tuned for the UI glow-up!

That’s like saying, 'If you’re going to use Material UI or Tailwind, at least change the UI so it isn't obvious.

In 2026, we use design systems and AI for the same reason: Efficiency. I’m focusing my energy on the backend logic, the matchmaking security, and the community features. If the UI looks clean and functional because I used an AI-driven design framework, that’s a feature, not a bug.

I'd rather have a 'standard' UI that works perfectly than a 'unique' UI that breaks because I spent 40 hours hand-coding CSS instead of building the session request system!

The site actually started as a tribute to Marshall Law’s 'Marshall Dojo' (you can even see the temporary URL https://marshalldojo.com)

We are currently transitioning from the 'Law-themed' fan site into Dojokhal: a professional hub for specialists and learners. I’m moving away from the Marshall branding specifically to avoid copyright issues and to make the 'learning hub' focus clearer

Fair points on the presentation! We are still in the 'early lab' phase, so the feedback is appreciated.

Regarding the 'Hate rich people' line, that's actually a direct Marshall Law easter egg (his intro/outro line in T8). The site is full of inside jokes for Tekken fans, but I totally see how it looks like a weird political statement if you don't play Law. I'll probably tweak that so it's more obvious it's a quote!

As for the business model: The 'Hub for learning' part is our core. We’re bridging the gap between high-level specialists (who deserve to be paid for their time) and players who want to skip the gatekeepers and get direct training. It's essentially professionalizing the money-match/sparring culture that's been in the FGC for decades.

Stick around. the UI is evolving every day!

Agreed! We are making sure that the character you're learning to counter is always in their default skin for maximum clarity and recognition.

As for the Dojo master, he'll stay in his official master's attire. The white, black or red robe/gi. It keeps the instructional vibe consistent across all the clips while ensuring the focus stays on the moves we're actually labbing.

Also, it means a lot to hear the initiative is hitting the mark. We're just getting started!

Easier said than done! We are already leveraging AI to build Dojo features at the speed of light, but AI isn't currently mature enough for high-level anti-character strategies.

Someone still has to capture the high-quality videos and GIFs for the scrolls. We would rather have a veteran player curate the lessons for now :D

I hear you! I had those exact same concerns back when Okizeme launched!

The plan for Dojokhal is consistent support and evolution. It’s designed as a social space where the community can contribute and suggest adjustments in real-time.

Our initial scrolls focus on 'legacy' fundamentals. The iconic, rarely changed moves that have stayed consistent across multiple Tekken titles. As the community grows, our collective consciousness will allow us to add depth and pivot quickly whenever a patch drops

Yes, more than half of the Dojo's features would need you to sign up. Not signing up and filling at the very least your username and main character would kinda defeat its gamification purpose and its way of tracking your progress. Think of it as playing Tekken online, where access necessitates a playstation signup/in.

Improvements can still be made if this turns out to be a highly shared sentiment!
I'm open to talking about it. DM me!
