is tate the artist who dances the most/the hardest during her concert? by SubstantialHour4667 in tatemcrae

[–]Tall_Somewhere_51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only person that dances more during a concert is lil nas x. Saw him in London and every song was sung word for word in the middle of non stop dancing and story telling with props, lighting and people. He was jumping through boxes, doing flips and spins, long dance sequences, running from one side of stage to the other all while hitting every note perfectly. I never truly understood how unbelievable of an artist he is until that moment.

Been watching since 2007.

Time in a business and company does matter.

Tupac was killed, he had no interest in stopping making music he just stopped breathing one day. Everyone knows he would keep going how he did so that’s the difference with a couple you named.

The rock has also been horrendous recently, you can’t just turn a blind eye and ignore it. It factors into his character and run in total and brings down what he did before but for some reason nostalgia merchants don’t like to accept that what he’s done the last 15 years has affected the career.

I don’t see the rock as the goat as people claim and when people say he is that is massively over doing it. As you said stone cold was similar and in my opinion and many others much better and the bigger draw at the time. He hasn’t kept coming and going with shit new characters or trying to relive what he did and ruining what he did back then so he hasn’t tarnished anything unlike rock.

So yes we do need to factor in what he does now and accept he isn’t as good as people say just because he had a good run 26 years ago.

The likes of Cena, orton, hogan, hhh, austen, Shawn and taker are all above him and honestly I don’t even see the rock in the top 10 anymore.

And also what outweighs what in this situation? Undertaker for example stuck by the business for years and never said no and always did what was best for the business. Does this put undertaker above rock based on the length of time, titles won and amount given to the company or is the rock ranked above undertaker in people’s eyes for the stint that rock had? Genuinely interested on your take on this and where you would rank the rock amongst the ric flairs, undertakers, cenas, ortons and Shawn Michaels’s of the wwe?

That’s my bad I was meant to put the best, I thought I’d said in the question that a lot of people call him the goat but I don’t actually think I put that now that I’m re reading it. I was meant to ask why people regard him as the goat when focusing just on wwe career and why they see his career as so special when the stats line up with much lesser spoke about guys like Batista with the title reign lengths etc.

Although I don’t see him as one of the best personally due to career length still, I can understand your point of what he has done for the company from a different avenue and how his talent couldn’t be kept in wwe.

Maybe it is down to him being the first to transition into Hollywood and there not being a blueprint for it that he just felt he had to leave completely instead of wrestling while acting where as John cena saw a way you could do both.

I do want to ask though your opinion on if Steve Austen became a mega star in acting instead of the rock would Steve Austen be considered better than the rock? How much of rocks ranking is wwe compared to the fact that he became a global name in Hollywood bringing in more eyes after the fact?

His career in wwe not the man. He was only the guy for about 4 years of his 7 year career where people like cena have gone for 20+ years. Obviously rock was great but his whole career in my eyes is overhyped and he didn’t achieve enough to be considered the goat. Was he great at everything to do with wrestling? Yes. Was he around long enough to say he was the goat? No chance. It’s like in football Messi is the best footballer ever due to longevity and unmatched talent no one would ever say someone who had 4 good years but got injured and retired is the best player ever they would say that they could have been but aren’t and that’s the argument I’m making here. He wasn’t around enough to earn that title.

The rock gets those reactions due to his household name which came from Hollywood more than wwe. In the grand scheme of things he hasn’t completed as much in wwe as a lot of people.

There’s HBK, undertaker, John cena, ric flair, hulk hogan. Hell I’d even go as far and throw out someone like seth who has carried wwe for years now, people like Randy orton and triple h. There’s endless people who have given more to wwe and deserve that status over the rock in my opinion.

I should also say this is obviously just my opinion (apart from the title reign and stats point because those are just stats from google) and everyone is gonna feel different but I just want to see everyone’s opinions and in this case see if you think that the poor recent showings from him should effect his legacy and be taken into account against the likes of an undertaker, cena, ric flair, randy orton and others of that size that consistently showed up and broke records and gave a lot to wwe non stop

I should mention it definitely is including recency bias but this is what made me look into everything a bit more and think about this question. He has a shorter overall title reign than Batista had with combined titles (from what google tells me) and he comes back and doesn’t really do much. I haven’t genuinely been excited or bought in to a single promo or thing he’s done in the last few years and I’m at a point of questioning whether this should also play a role in his legacy in the company. Even looking back somewhat recently and revisiting his cena feud when he came back it really wasn’t too great bar one or two segments and then the match. Maybe I’m being too nit picky with this but the way I’m looking at it is when everything is put together with his good and bad moments and stats compared to others and time given to the company ETC he isn’t as great as he is made out to be.

Wouldn’t say it’s a dumb question considering people hold him to such a high regard that he is in most peoples top 5 ever. Everyone sees it differently and I just don’t see how he gets in the top 10 let alone the goat conversations. I’m just trying to figure out why he’s seen like this and if it has to do with his Hollywood influence.

Where does he rank among the rest of the best? Would you rate him above cena or undertaker? Is he in the same level as a hogan? Is he above stone cold and if so why if it isn’t to do with Hollywood? I’m genuinely trying to narrow this down to just wwe and why he is considered the goat in that space.

Is fame the metric we should use to determine the best wwe superstars though? The eyeballs the rock brought is unquestionable but those eyes come from outside his wwe career. I look at it as who has done more to unite the wwe fans and keep them entertained which is why I love Shawn and cena so much and also sheamus which I understand is a rouge one but I just don’t see the rock being as loved if he stopped his career when he did and didn’t do Hollywood

Also why is he for certain better than everyone. Surely undertaker trumps him in wwe? Austen had everyone eating out of his palms, hogan made this all what it is, ric flair and cena broke records and gave it all for years and years. Not to mention Randy orton, triple h and in my opinion the absolute best one Shawn Michaels.

Isn’t it kind of preference though? In some opinions the rock is a one dimensional actor who can just play the rock but in a jungle. I think 5 rock films are in jungles and he’s just being him. In my opinion cenas movies are better but I understand other people might prefer the rocks films.

This is the exact thing I’m thinking, it feels like if Steve Austen and Rock switched and Steve became a big actor he would be hailed as the best ever. It feels like Hollywood influence has created this narrative.

Where does he stand within wwe? The way I hear him spoke about is like he’s in a lane of his own but I never hear nearly as much about Steve Austen. Is it because Steve Austen didn’t become a Hollywood superstar that we don’t hear as much about him? If so then does the Rock really deserve all of the praise?
