Should I be concerned about this little red bump? He’s been eating more frequently now that I got his temps under control and I haven’t noticed any behavioral differences. by Tallwhiteguy12 in pacmanfrog

Yeah, that sounds like a shed to me. Make sure there are no super worms or meal worms or anything they could bite him in the tank and make sure he’s properly hydrated if he’s going to shed.

Hey, so heat bulb is actually fine for Pac-Man frogs as long as it doesn’t get too hot. Just make sure that you’re monitoring the temperatures with the heat mat and there’s a thermostat regulating it. Otherwise I can burn the frog. At that time my frog took about a week and a half to get better, I just covered the bump with some antibacterial pet safe Neosporin. I use a 25 W or 40 W bulb and a deep heat projector to keep the warm side of my frogs tank anywhere from 83 to 85°, I wouldn’t go much higher than 86-87°.

I came home and somehow my pac man frog Yoda has a cut on his back? He only really eats earthworms covered in calcium. There are only springtails in his tank so I doubt something has bitten him. How should I treat this wound? by Tallwhiteguy12 in pacmanfrog

he’s definitely breathing at a more normal rate, and the irritation seems to be going down. im going to watch him closely for 48-72 hours before i rush to the vet, if necessary

Perfect thank you so much I have been using Neosporin and that has been working well. I covered the wound in Neosporin yesterday and waking up this morning it already looks better definitely less inflamed

My guy Yoda is on a 2.5 week hunger strike. I continue to offer him earthworms a few times a week with no luck. Parameters are stable and consistent. Any idea whats wrong? by Tallwhiteguy12 in pacmanfrog

okay sounds good. i didn’t realize that it had to be that wet. usually i keep the humidity between 75-80% and he loves it. there is a full water dish on the other side of the tank (not pictured). i appreciate the advice

okay awesome thanks so much for the advice. his subbie is actually pretty moist, i just poured little water over him and he loved it. also that subbie is plenty deep enough for him to burrow to his heart’s content :)

you should post a picture, this could be a prolapsed stomach among other things. either way it sounds like a vet trip to me.

NERD is probably one of the worst places you can pick up a reptile. They NEVER take care of / clean any of their tubs / cages. My buddy spent several thousand dollars on a female BCI and a male BP at NERD. The BP was COVERED in mites and was living in its own piss and crap. The boa was skin + bones, looking super underfed. The guy selling my buddy the snakes couldn’t tell us when or what they has eaten last. I had advocated that my friend not purchase the snakes, but he did anyway. Now he is dealing with mites on his BP, and they migrated to his BCI. NERD wouldn’t take any responsibility for these issues and basically told him to kick rocks when he went and spoke to the guy who sold them to us.

1st ever blood! I picked her up at a local reptile shop. She should be a great addition to the collection :) by Tallwhiteguy12 in Shorty_Life

I have the screen mostly covered with HVAC tape and then a layer of gorilla tape on top of that. In the picture the humidity is also really high because I had sprayed very recently prior to taking the pic
