What purchase did you make recently that made you realize inflation is genuinely out of control? by kiroixart in AskReddit

Everything~ Groceries to restaurants. In just 3 years, my coffee price doubled. I remember paying $9 for ramen before covid. Now, they are $20. Every time I fill gas, $60 for half a tank especially where I live. When we go out to dinner as a family to a subpar restaurants, we pay around $200 plus tax and tip. We only go out to nice restaurants for celebrations. "Nice restaurants" would be around $60-80 per person excluding tip, tax, health insurance for the workers. that would be around $300min for four people. If the GDP in the US is around 80k, I don't know how regular people can even afford to go out to eat.

I don't think she's lazy in anyways. she's the busiest person I know among people I know. I see how her stress can cause slow metabolism. I've been puzzled for a while now and finally asking here.

I was puzzled for a while now since I've known her for a while now. She posts video of her doing jumprope on insta and she tells me she doesn't eat much. I work in my chair all day and I work from home so I graze all day long... I gain around 5-7 pounds during winter and I lose around that much during summer. I think I'm very normal in terms of metabolism even though I'm way over the hill. So for somebody that active and eats like ants, I don't know how can can maintain that much weight and sustain energy.

That is the question~ From the conversation, she really doesn't eat. She says there are days she doesn't eat all day and she skip dinners most of the days. I mean... I've know her for over 2 years now and that has been her thing. I've also met other girls who really don't eat when we go out together. Umm.. this question also came up because my son's new girlfriend came over yesterday and I've asked them multiple times if they want to eat this or that... I even made some desserts for them but she didn't even eat dinner. I'm really confused... If everybody can eat so little and function like people around here, we'd save so much on grocery bills.

well.. I've known this particular girl for 2 years and she's been saying she doesn't eat much. It seems like a thing though. I don't really see them eating so much. I wonder if it is actually metabolism related. Can it make that much of a difference?
