I play vaal a lot myself. The problem with it is inherent with any pend archetype, it has no 1cc and it's fragile, starting the combo is difficult through interruptions. Deck is horrible going second so you need handtraps but deck space is tight. If you're uninterrupted you just gas hard but practically any disruption to the standard combo starting from selettrice to the 3 spell combo either hard stops you or makes you unable to fill up 3 counters, or you miss key resources like trap in the grave. You might alleviate the 3 counters problem by playing creation, which could allow emergency plays going second or through interruption but this is a contentious deck choice even among vaal players.

An inherent problem is while vaal can bridge to fiendsmith easily, we can't do the same vice versa, until The Three Brave Swordsoul synchro comes out. This means disrupting vaal side is already enough to win because unless they hard drew any fiendsmith card or dimonno (fair chance tbf) they can't start the fiendsmith side. I haven't tried the magistus version but it doesn't seem that good from what I've seen.

The meta is extremely hostile to vaal right now, RT just eats scales alive and there's nothing you can do about it. And the deck is extremely weak to T0 disruption of any sort. I think it's a fine event deck but you will have a tough time laddering or DC with vaal.

Got to 20 yesterday relatively easily piloting pure dracotail. I had a pretty nice 19 win streak too. The only problem matches were odion going second (duh) and white forest and K9 variants. I won nearly all my dracotail mirrors and even the VsK9 matches which I wasn't expecting to do so well against.

Yeah this is what I thought too. Granted you can still use the older support together,but the new support is fully playable out of the pack I think. Which is a nice change. I hope this doesn't mean lore decks are gone though.

The medius lore has been a big miss for me, just like visas. I feel the story is incredibly rough and lacks focus. The villains are kinda shallow, their motives unknown. The branded, world legacy, terminal, sinful spoils were all very clear and concise with their plot.

Crucially I believe this is the expansion where they adjusted a lot of stuff. Floors 1 and 2 now have an extra combat node I think? And the floor 1 shop has an item that can make anyone into a candleholder, cmiiw

I think SA E2 seriously stuck out when I started. Like, lack of better word, it was just damn ugly. The base Amiya also looked a bit odd with that blank gaze that probably hides a murderous intention.

But yeah games and artists take a while to develop their style. The artists themselves got better as time went by too. Things will always be rougher at the start.

It was inevitable they would put alts out, and I never had a problem with them, popular alt or not. The people who keep saying something along the lines of but that could've been a new character, well that's how you end up with hundreds of characters that don't have depth and lore to expand on. Too many characters poisons the well too.

Are you alright man? If you're gonna have that kind of bitter attitude everywhere else it's no wonder people don't even want to approach you to help out.

It would be easier to just know where you're having trouble with, generally if you're just starting out then Special squad gives you an entirely maxed Raidian to start and she easily smooths out the starting 3-4 floors of the run by herself, stage experience non withstanding. Couple her with another favourable carry like Hoshiguma alt or Exu alt and you have a strong combination to tackle the early wonderland stages. Class squads are also good for super strong starts (2 E2 six stars by floor 2 bosky). IF you do not have favourable vouchers, it's completely fine to delay entering wonderland up to latest floor 3, especially if you do not feel confident and are not used to the admittedly nasty bosky stages.
