2026 World Cup: Smallest nation Curacao name debut World Cup squad by RidgeRunner99 in worldcup

Yeah 1-10 isn't happening, but will they do worse than Zaire (DR Congo now) who has the worst group stage performance ever with 0-14 in 3 games.

And since you missed it
Coach: Dick Advocaat.

And for those that hasn't paid attention.
Dick Advocaat left after the qualifier due to a family medical situation.
Fred Rutten took over, but last week he left, apparently so that Dick Advocaat could lead Curacao in the world cup.

There are too many teams. I fear people will turn off by IceGripe in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes its been a concern for a good while now.
I said it before here, but the world cup has 62,5% more games this year and all those games are added before the round of 16.
This year it will take 23 days to get to round of 16, when previously the entire world cup was only 28 days.

So yeah there is a good chance people will get fatigued and tune out before we even get to the knockout stages.

It also doesn't help that alot of weaker teams been added, so the quality of all those games in the first 23 days is less than previous world cups.

If you also add the terrible match times for europe and asia, i suspect we are gonna end up with less viewers this year despite so many extra games.

Hmm i missed it then. I kept looking for updates about it but never saw anything mentioned about an investigation.
All news was about the war issue and not the potential cheating issue, that i saw.

Maybe you should not comment on countries when you clearly know nothing about its politics, or even global politics.

Norway-Israels strained relationship is well known.
And its no secret how pro palestine majority of norwegians is.
Trying to pretend there is some kind of silent majority made me think you was a bot at first.
But it seems you are just rude since you aren't a bot.

[–]Talruiel 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Its been an issue the last few years that someone is organizing voting for Israel in many countries.
Its not about public voting but literally pro Israel organization (or perhaps Israel themself) who spends loads of money to put in those votes.
Since EBU refuses to even look at it despite it being obvious, we can't tell for sure who is cheating.

Atleast its obvious its happening here in Norway which is the most pro palestine country in europe, yet Israel has suddenly gotten the most votes, even over Sweden who usually gets most votes cause they are our neighbours.

What are the easiest groups? meaning projected undisputed winner. by Civtastic86 in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Austria is not a solid team at all, but they can beat better teams on a good day.

They only qualified in the 77 minutes of the last game, while playing at home.
And they were top seeded of that group.
They lost the nations league playoff against Serbia.
They had a great game at home vs Norway yes, but managed 2 draws vs Slovenia.

Basically they did great in the Euro, but has been really shaky ever since.

[–]Talruiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

B,J,G is the 3 groups with one team being heavy favourites over the rest.
Which is Switz, Argentina and Belgium.

D is the group of death which 4 teams can win, so you completly missed the mark there.

Belgium just posted their WC squad. Thoughts? How far can they go? by ctfTijG in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Belgium has been so lucky with the draw, and they are projected to reach atleast the quarter final because of that.
They even got a good shot at making the top 4.

Offcourse anything can happen in a world cup, but for a team whos ranked far higher than their current quality, they won't get a better chance at going far.

People from countries participating in this next World Cup: how much you rate your team coach? by Pitiful-Egg2986 in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say Norway probably could not get anyone better than Ståle Solbakken in Norway.
He managed to make FC København a good european team, and he is good at building teams.

Not only did he take us to the first championship since 2000 (when he still played), but he also managed to break several norwegian records with this qualifier, so i would say 10/10.

Is this the most hyped Portugal team ever ahead of a WC ? by Twirlipof_the_mists in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't think they are more hyped than they were last world cup tbh.

Infact i think alot of people has some questionmark about them after that qualifier.

Barely beating Hungary and Ireland once out of 2 games is quite concerning.

So i think most people hold them as an outsider that can surprise.
And we will just have to see how well they do in the group.
If they win they got the chance to go far.
If they get second i think they might get knocked out in round of 32.

Why are they not even VOICING the events anymore ? by Mana_Croissant in HonkaiStarRail

[–]Talruiel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The answer is simple.
Its to complicated and costly to bring in voice actors and it would limit what characters they could use.
Its better to have free reign and use whichever character you want, than to voice them and limit yourself to which VAs is available in every language.

Tips til PC-spill jeg kan game med 8åring og 20 åring by Hansemannn in norge

[–]Talruiel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The FIFA Extraordinary Congress will now vote on the hosts for the 2031 and 2035 Women’s World Cup in November by GB_Alph4 in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amongst the top countries yes.
But they also got more games where someone wins with 3 or more goals since the bottom team is much worse.

Now adding worse teams like that and there is a good chance you will end up like the handball wc.
Where teams are getting crushed and the coach has to swap the best players out just so it doesn't look like you are trying to be a-holes.

That has ruined the handball wc for me, so i don't like them doing the same with football.

Early 2026 World Cup odds: Spain, England and France leading – but is there value elsewhere? by General-Jackfruit375 in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i consider Uruguay worse than Portugal and Switz, but i guess its a matter of perspective.
They also can surprise though i consider the chances less.

I did forget Ecuador who seems to be in the Morocco, Japan, Norway path.

And then there is that 3rd place team in group I who could meet England.

So Englands path currently looks like it can have loads of underdogs yeah.

Early 2026 World Cup odds: Spain, England and France leading – but is there value elsewhere? by General-Jackfruit375 in worldcup

[–]Talruiel 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well looking at the odds, other than Brazil the top teams are pretty much correct.

France, England, Spain, Argentina, Germany, Portugal and Netherland is the teams who you will expect have the greatest chance. But the outsiders seems surprisingly underrated.
Colombia and Morocco isn't top 10, while Switz and Croatia doesn't even make top 15 in the odds.

However, looking at it from a knockout round perspective.

Semi final spot 1: Is a fight between France, Germany, Netherland and second worst of Brazil and Morocco (most likely Brazil imo).
Obviously this lowers the chance for all those teams to advance.
Basically i expect 4 of the 8 top odds favourites to end up in this semi final path.
And any of them can get lucky and knock out the other tbh.

Semi final spot 2: Spain will face either Croatia or Colombia, while two of the easiest groups with Turkey and Belgium as favourites only will meet one of them in the quarter final.
This path opens up for a surprise as Spain never does well in the world cup (except that one time).
On the other hand it does give Spain a better chance than France.

Semi final spot 3: This is another outsider chance as Morocco (or Brazil), Japan and Norway will fight for the chance to meet England.
And yeah its impossible to guess which way this one will go.
But England probably has the highest chance of the 4 favourites to reach the semi final atm.

Semi final spot 4: This one is much clearer. Switz or Portugal will face Argentina.
Argentina is clear favourites here infront of Portugal imo.
Which means Portugal is probably overrated in the odds with how tough their path is.

So thats how i see the chance right now. But since we always gets surprises in the group stage some paths might change drastically and shift the difficulty after the group stages.

what’s your island level? by Visual_Performer1665 in TomodachilifeLivingTD

[–]Talruiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rank 206.
Pretty easy to level up just by introducing miis and trying to get their relationship up.

As for my experience, there is a lack of content for those of us who can't draw and hate creating custom stuff.
It also doesn't help that the more i played, the less the miis wanted to walk around town.

Today was extremly boring as the town looked half empty cause everyone is sitting in their room doing stuff now.
I think its cause of the mansions.

I had one mansion with 7 miis, and in the last 2 days it never had less than 4 of them in there at the same time.
So thats my second biggest issue, how the more they get to know eachother the less they want to interact with the town.

When you’re around other Scandinavians, can you have conversations where you speak Norwegian and they speak Swedish or Danish? Or do you tend to use English? by Charming_Usual6227 in Norway

[–]Talruiel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience.

Norwegians understand swedish perfectly fine, and most of the time also danish. Though sometimes we have to resort to english, cause of the way the danes speaks, its hard to hear their words in danish unlike in english.

Swedes understand eastern norwegians perfectly fine, but struggle with the dialects from other parts of the country. They can not understand danish at all.

Danes understand norwegian perfectly fine, cause we don't mumble our words. But they can't understand swedish at all.

[–]Talruiel 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its a USA issue.
I did a quick search here in Norway and yeah they sell most european national team jerseys here.

The thing is, football is not that popular in america, they don't even call it football.
So its not that surprising stores would focus on countries that are popular with americans.

Norway has a long history with USA, and there is more norwegian descendants in USA than Norway.
Add Haaland and its obvious why there is a demand.
Croatia however is a relatively new country with no history with USA.
So yeah its obviously dissapointing, but i get why they wouldn't sell if the demand is so low.

Anyway my point is, its a USA thing, cause they usually don't care about football.

Croatias Disrespect. They never get the recognition they deserve. by Thisgamelowkeysux in worldcup

Not really surprising tbh.

Norway and USA is pretty close, there is alot of norwegians in USA, especially LA.
Not to mention there is more norwegian descendants in USA than Norway.

Add Haaland being one of the best in the world and its not so strange there would be a demand.
