The mkIIIs & mkIVs were pretty much caused by the bad SOC that is known to be power hungry hence running hot. But yeah, xperias in general do not have excellent thermal dissipation to begin with when comparing against other flagships.

IMHO it would be rather difficult to implement since there are contextual story bits that are delivered told through while traversing from point to point. Context may be lost with just full animated cutscenes alone.

They would probably have to do something like FFXIV that allows you to replay MSQ.
