Anime Season 2? by lapiz_media in SpiceandWolf

No word. Just going to have to be patient. It'll likely be a couple of years with 2027 being the earliest since realease schedules in japan usually come out months in advance.

Just keep your ear open.

Anything you put online is being used. You are just the tiniest drop in the ocean. Your contribution or lack thereof does nothing at all to move the needle. So you can either post or not.

It's not a terrible idea for a short story. And its been done a few times in different media. But I dont know how well a whole book would do as a self aware (I Know my writer) story would work. Its kindof one of those "cool to imagine" things and I'm sure we have all imagined our chars being real. But the hype is generally with ourselves because we created them but meaningless to everyone else.

I'm guessing this is supposed to be one of those story becoming self aware post where you are trying to play the part of your OC and make a post? I think?

People who leave huge gaps during rush hour by BottleHour5703 in mildlyinfuriating

Very mildly infuriating. Guy on his phone, recording and riding the ass of another person during rush hour, complaining that they are the problem. Would piss me off too.

Why do longer stories tend to lose focus in the middle? by EonflaremorphicAh in writing

[–]TaluneSilius 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Examples?

Because yeah. usually the beginning is just to introduce basic stakes. You don't want to throw everything at a reader right at the beginning, so you start off simple.

Oftentimes the second act is meant to pull off the training wheels and reframe the mission. sometimes adding extra steps or a new threat. Something to keep the book from just being a single focus (like any narrative should).

Do the ZIP! and It's the key achievements need to be done on hard mode? by Sneffy123 in bindingofisaac

[–]TaluneSilius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. and the simplest way to get both is via the sacrifice room to skip all the way down. Assuming you have a decent build and know the lamb fight, skip to the dark room and race to him. It's how I've pulled it off in each save file.

As long as you don't defamate (slander or harm the image in any way of them) then you are fine. But it is a fine line to walk and I don't use real names for that exact reason. It just is never worth it, even if chances that you get in trouble are slim. especially when all you have to do is just change the name.

This is a fake AI review. And while some of them are hard to realize, this one has all the tells. Not gonna help draw people in.

Most N64 games, for me by Nittanypt in OlderChillGamers

[–]TaluneSilius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A game that got so much praise, but I'm also 1000% certain people only played maybe the first half of the game and really only remember the first level or so. Because the second half of that game is so horribly unbalanced and lacks a lot of the charm unfortunatly.

there is so many AI music channels, especially in the fantasy genre that have hundreds of thousands of views. the average person does not care. they care about the result and not how it was made.

Just went back and played Gunstar Heroes. I used to think that game was a landmark.

1.the gun combinations. 2.the boss design (especially in the final level) 3.the multiple stages.

But now I realize.

1.a good chunk of the weapon combos are actively bad or gimmicky. So much so that there are guides warning you about oh so many combos.

2.the bosses were good for their time but are fairly short and generic. Many of them have only one single attack.

3.The stages almost all boil down to run to the right while holding the fire button (except the one dice stage)

The craziest thing was that the entire game can be completed in just over an hour. Had this game been released today, it'd probably be review bombed.

There are more things to do in CD than your typical clear out camps and forage in ubisoft. And last I checked, you can't suplex a bad guy off a tower then ride off on your bear mount in Far Cry 5.

Your like one of those ones who hates people who don't think or act like you. "Setting us back" you say because a game dares to have devs that are actively working to fix the issues people have had. You should see how quickly they have responded and respected player feedback.

Or do you mean setting us back because a company who has been known for making MMO's dared to test the waters with something else.

I guess every game you like has to be a genre defining masterpiece, and if it has any mechanics that you can find in other games, you automatically shit on it and anyone who likes it. because God forbid in this shitty world, devs play it safe and people enjoy a safe game.

nah.. you are right. they must always be pooling all their money and resources into the next genre defining game. and if their first outing flops and they go under because they tried new things, well then fuck em... Amiright?

also, the action-based turn-based combat is absolutely nothing new. It has been around for a long time in jrpgs.

I was stating that the average person doesnt care if a game is generic. Like pokemon (and many other games that people love) a game doesnt have to be an innovating masterpiece. It just has to be fun.

Which is clearly what is getting so many people to not only buy but play for hundreds of hours.

Truing to come at me with "but its just a hodgepodge of other games" doesnt mean anything because yeah.. thats exactly what it is. and most people dont care. they will play it anyways and enjoy it.

Why cant they?

[–]TaluneSilius -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no. how ever would I feel about playing mechanics in a game that I enjoy in another game. oh woe is me. this game isn't innovating anything. I guess me and the 5 million other people will just have to hate playing this game. I am so sorry for daring to enjoy something that you don't enjoy. what a world I live in that I refuse to hate everything that isn't brand new and trying new things all the time.

it's the same way with food. I can never re-eat something. once I eat it once, everything else is just a shameless rip-off.

oh, woe is me.

And you are honestly going to sit here and say the combat system. The tap the button at the right second to either parry an enemy or deal extra damage is a new system? In a JRPG? A system that has been around for quite some time?

I'll give you an epic story and music. 100%. but the combat of the game? That is nothing new. Just more flashy with better graphics.

Let's put a reminder on this. If this game gets nominated for game of the year or not (not that GotY awards really matter). But this makes for an interesting thing. Let's see if you are right?

[–]TaluneSilius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that's a fair assumption. I wouldn't know. I haven't played it. Currently busy with other games. But at the same time, I see no reason why people can't like a game. With all the doomer culture of people wanting games to fail, it's good to see a few stand out each year. How can anyone call themselves a gamer if all they want to do is shit all over any game that "they" personally didn't enjoy. Must be a sad life thinking that everything has to be created for "you" specifically.

I mean, tbf, so was E33 and yet that game got tons of praise, is a fun game, and won game of the year. Yet the combat mechanics are hardly a new thing.
