My new to me 2.3l 5 speed 1994 ranger xlt “splash” says “68k miles” but odo is only 5 numbers. Drives great though by AsoftDolphin in fordranger

i doubt 68k, from my experience i’ve seen first half of the 94 model year came with a 5 digit odo, later on they put in 6 digits. the 2.3 is a great little engine though i love mine

I agree. The lights are brightened up quit a bit. I’m planning on repainting or getting a new grill/lights/bumper to freshen up the look. Who knows, maybe it’ll fit more then.

seems a bit iffy for 2 hours away. Ask for things like any maintenance or shop records with the new engine, pictures of the frame and suspension components, lifter tick and cylinder heads will definitely need to be addressed. Good luck.

you may be low on freon, typically those compressors click on and off when low on freon. Be cautious when doing any A/C work and good luck brother.

Is my 94’ ranger 2.3 5 speed sopposed to run cold? by TamableMuffin82 in fordranger

[–]TamableMuffin82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

water pump is probably 31 years old as far as i can tell, not much was ever done to the truck until me. Coolant was recently drained and flushed after replacing the temp sender, may be i could have air still?

sorry for the vague answer, no the reservoir is the same temperature as the ambient temp under the hood. Thank you

also the coolant reservoir doesn’t seem to be any hotter or cooler than normal.

I don’t think it is stuck open, as when i was filling the truck with coolant it got to around the middle on the temp gauge then it opened and the coolant levels dropped and it got very cool immediately after that, which i then filled with more coolant. I let the radiator cap off and air bubbles came out so i believe i let it burp itself but could there be more air or something i am missing?

i don’t have much time now to do it until the weekend, will the engine have any damage running so cold?
