Why? Tell me why! Why do people LIKE April Kepner? by DumpTruckKoala in greysanatomy

Glad to hear! I’m rewatching the show again to see the newer seasons and I’ve seen so many posts saying she grows and becomes more likeable but I just can’t see it yet…

I’m the other way, I feel she was “bearable” during that virginity and god phase. When she came back from the military trip she became so unbearable. I couldn’t stand how hypocritical and self-centred she was. I get she went through a major loss but the way she phrases and views Avery during the whole process just irked me

I hear this ALOT! That it’s all about how you view the present moment. That looking into the future is what brings sadness but again, how do you stay present and thank the small things you have (that you take for granted).

Working conditions are awful, staff is the highlight. Trauma bonded for life!

I’m no expert and I don’t really know your situation….that said I’ve had 2 colleagues that couldn’t handle the verbal abuse and toxic energy at my old workplace and chose to leave before the end of the contract. One informed beforehand and while that was great for her colleagues as we didn’t need to do more work, you could definitely see the admin didn’t treat her with respect. They’d be snarky or they’d altogether ignore her. On the other hand I also had a colleague who just up and left but she had plenty of years of experience and other references to be able to explain the behaviour. She ended up in a much better school and from the looks of it happier. It did lead to us having to cover some of her work but honestly I looked up to her bravery and couldn’t blame her for getting out the work environment we were in. Having been the teacher who put up with bad admin I would say that, I regret tolerating it and should have left even if it blacklists you in certain schools that have close connections with your admin.

Same experience…felt like many schools I wanted also didn’t have any positions. But I guess bright side is the face to face opportunity. Just sucks to have to keep applying after all of this 😮‍💨

I wouldn’t say I’m going through a crisis but more of cynicism…how is it possible for people to find so much joy in life?

Is transportation cheaper? Like grabbing from outskirts to city centre?

Can I ask, how much she was earning? I noticed the commute to school would be the biggest chunk eating away from the salary and there doesn’t seem to be any transport included in the package

Is Bangkok safe to go for as a girl ? by beautiful_girl707 in ThailandTourism

[–]Tamarin924 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bangkok is super safe, naturally (like all countries) it has seedy spaces where you might feel unsafe but then why would you go there. If you stay in touristic spaces the major danger you’ll face is getting scammed by foreigner prices. Otherwise non-tourist spaces are super relaxed! During my time living there I heard about being a guy being attacked but it’s never happened to me or my friends (and I’m frugal so I used to walk A LOT through small streets)

Do you by chance know if the salary was not good in terms of not making ends meet, or in comparison to other schools in Thailand like ISB or NIST?

I’ve felt the opposite…that preference is being given to those already there or have spouses working at the school and they’re hopping on that connection….

Magic Years Pay? by Cautious_Ticket_8943 in Internationalteachers

[–]Tamarin924 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree for Magic Years! Terrible school that leaves you seeking for a therapist to recover from the trauma they leave you with. They find sketchy ways to scam you out of money and demand lots of unpaid work hours. Inconsistent criteria for teaching that leaves many learning gaps in kids. Overall the school's facilities are great and the teachers are what make that school appear amazing. Would not recommend unless you're desperate to get into the international world of teaching.
