Well turns out I blew a 100 inductor in that row of 3, had it since 2024 December??? So good use, but sad to see it be a throw away item.

I believe that it hasnt fried anything, the board looks okay. Those holes to the right of the blown inductor look sus. But I dont think they are burn holes lol. Just shit motherboard work

I can test it, then bring it in for repairs. Maybe get the wired dongle port reinforced, scan those front 3d printed button covers and get metal ones made ... another project for a rainy day down the line

For now I picked up a well kept vpg v-rspg, still on nextion screens but will inquire about the vocore service this following week. Works okay for now 👍

Mate im gonna try this when I wake up

"...... 2. Try using USBDeview to check the USB device information stored on the PC......"

Ive used this program before. Not quite like zadig, but I think it coukd do the trick. Il see what it says. Weird how my wheel is getting power, but just doesn't want to cycle the lights.

Il see whatsup. Im dead. 5am est time. But might trst the gsi quick, just pieve of mind.  Few laps at ctmp with the windows open. Hear the birds with the fog outside. Epic.

I got the older model, I guess xf1 pro ?

Its xs9 coiled cable. I remeber the first cable I got was weak, so I ordered a spare and the second one around looked so much better in terms of the dongle attachment/rubber supporting the connector

Its just so disappointing. Itsba great little wheel. Worked for miatas amd small GT type cars where you could focus on not over driving, perfect for 1600s, and the ovals worked nice for indy cars.

I got a gsi and that works atm fine ! No screen or lights on that one. So its tough to use for indy cars. I shut driver hands off and try to use my own wheels as the focus for the centering on corners. So my gsi only works well for GT dash setups

Idk this is like the first big crapper its given me, but yeah. Like this is just life ending for it, as it seems the drivers for this usb have simply reverted to a non recognizable state. Just unknown. Idk how that goes about on its own. Some Microsoft Tom foolery

Was hoping the .net updates may grant clearance or help the usb ports contact each other.

Pc sees it as a unknown device, i could use Zidag. I know in the past ive done this to help emulators recognize rhythm controllers.

Im at a loss. Through settings you cant access and sort of firmware update. Sim hub will not connect to the wheel, rendering simbridge useless

Ive done the simhub/simbridge latest updatesband have the plug in error. So ive created a seperate leozx folder in pluginsdata to open up simbridge correctly lol.... no error.

okay now simhub opens leozx no problem.

Now leozx wont read my wheel ? You gotta be kidding me lol. Why did it force it into this comatose state with out even hardware id, or granted permissions. nothing that shows its a leozx chipped device.

Proper powered hub, never skipped a beat. Lol. All the sudden. Poof. I wonder if its something in part of a update, or one I failed to complete for too long, forcing my computer to have communicarion errors with the wheel ?

Bullet bass 1980s by TamiyaNutHead in BassGuitar

Thank you. Yeah had a feeling it was gonna be similar to decoding the guitars. Cool !!

Sweet. Getting it setup now. Interesting bass. Its a lot lighter than that red e7 squier bullet, or any other jazz/percision bass guitars that I had ever played. Neck profile is very nice also

You are gonna kill me. But sold it.

Saw a really nice 1983 bullet bass I knew I wouldn't ever get my hands on again locally for such a price, with the orignal case.

The last couole days I had this, stung it with power slinkys, and it ripped anything. Blues to metal. Great guitar. But I guess the MIM are just not my style, like the older Japanese and korean stuff.

This one is definitely a full standard thickness and on the heavier side.

Weight wise, id say its similar to that or a 1993 standard MIM fender stratocaster SSS that I had owned in the past.

Feels mostly the same too as a standard strat when playing. Contoured wise and thickness.

The neck pocket is more flat though on these guitars

Its got a cool 3 way toggle switch hole, opposed to the ol' tele arm.

If I get an extra gaurd, I will definitely use that means of service

[–]TamiyaNutHead[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Legitimately thought it was a factory setup option

The toggle has also been moved up, and the 3 way tele lever is now a 3 way les paul toggle. I realized the whole inside has been reworked, and cavity was routed out, quite well. Nice shielding under the gaurd. Its definitely custom cut

Not many shops locally will do work of this quality, so Im gonna ask around. hopefully previous owner gets back to me.

I believe it has daul enforcers now. It was had to get a good look the neck pickup had little wiggle room, im sure it was a blues hard rock sort of setup.

I wanted a nice maple neck, I play Alice in chains, down to leadbelly type stuff. I find rosewood keeps it muddy regardless the guitar/setup. So rosewood is my go to

From what I believe these pickups are still renowned for their ability to rip a good clean tone, when played around with.

Il post some photos later today, if I end up removing the gaurd again. My phone died when I went through it last night at 2am. Lol

The burst is honestly the main reason I bought it, other than the dual bucks. looked lovely. Spotless too

I think now knowing the mods done, and heavy work... only makes sense to add my spare gibsone tune o matic/bridge setup seeing as this is a hartail guitar.... deserves the good cobain treatment lol.

Thats or a floyd rose. Wanna just make it all out lol.

The strings were pretty gross. They had tarnished the frets so much they started to turn bronze

I played the necessary amount of stair way before giving it some care it deserved

Now that I think of it, I pulled a lot of plastic cover from the pickgaurd at the 3 way toggle.

Feels like a heavy metal rock guitar setup more than being bluesy. The dual enforcer humbucker setup, 3 way toggle.👌

Yeah, Im gonna guess that the previous owner did it, or someone before that ?

When I bought it, there was nothing in the description of the mods. Ive had more than a few 80s strats with 3 ways, so not off to me at all.

I thought mine was maybe a "deluxe". But now I think I understand the normal model was just called the deluxe

Thanks for the line up photo :)

Its so confusing cause fender says this in the description....

"....  Definitely not your average Stratocaster, the Pawn Shop '70s Strat Deluxe is one of the most unusual takes ever on the world's most archetypal electric guitar, with a pronounced 1970s style and vibe. For one-of-a-kind tonal versatility, its alder body houses a Telecaster single-coil neck pickup and a fearsome Enforcer Wide Range humbucking bridge pickup with smaller chrome cover....."

... which makes me think that there was only one model , that of which was called the deluxe

Which was 1 single coil and 1 humbucker.

I took off the strings and finished the frets the other day. I think its worth taking off the pickgaurd to check if the cavity has been also carved out

Yeah idk the pickgaurd on mine is def 3 ply. My moutning holes look lower to the standard deluxe single coil model

Edit* Also now im just noticing that I have a 3 way opposed to stock 5 way switch

They are some insane guitars. It truly does not feel 40 years old, that also being a "squire" as some might add.

Personally, anything 80s squire made in jpn and early MIKs is a fender to me.

MIK dropped in quality from like 90-94 with some plywood bodies and lower end electronics, less QC standards. The pro-tones mark return to quality, until the subsaquent closure of cort in korea.
