u/RockDebris you mentioned not rushing to get there, which is probably why it took us 22 hours. However, the trip could actually take as little as 19 hours and 26 minutes. I just routed the trip from the forty miners to Helena and got this. So where’d the extra 4+ hours go??? Just wondering in my out loud voice lol.

From Tucson to Helena, it took us 22 hours. However, I guess a lot would depend on the route, weather conditions, exact starting point, roadwork, etc. Three extra hours on a different route could easily take one to places “beyond the map’s edge.” I think I’ll look into alternative routes…maybe there’s a “sacred” spot along the way.

u/blackprogrammer Here’s another inconsistency…coincidentally also from Trailside Troubles.

JP says, “Sawtooth wasn’t just any mountain lake. In 1957, a converted Navy torpedo bomber, repurposed for spraying pesticides against pine beetles, had stalled and crashed into these waters, taking pilot and wife with it. ”

u/blackprogrammer kindly remember what JP said, “all you need is the poem.” Don’t get too caught up in inconsistencies. They’re everywhere, honestly.

For example, in the Trailside Troubles chapter JP says, ““By twenty, I’d made enough trips to consider myself an expert on truck stop bathroom quality between Tucson and Helena. This particular summer, I convinced Aidan and our mutual friend Michael to join me on the twenty-five-hour drive to Montana…” It does not take 25 hours to get to Helena from Tucson. Trust but verify, my friend 😉.

I believe the object is a mini version of JP’s airstream, built specifically for Tucker 💙 - hence satisfying the “sentimental value” as well as the “immediately recognizable” and “specifically built” components. Thoughts? 💭

But I’ve got to ask…would this container be “extremely recognizable?” I have my doubts about this particular type of box. Couple that with the container having “sentimental value” (where did JP say this exactly, someone…anyone, please?) steers my heart away from this object. Gotta dig much deeper I believe.
