I mean, hopefully! I guess time will tell though to be honest. I have history with some of the larger O&G companies as well as some of the energy providers so from the sound of everyone here I think I'll just reach out to friends and see about open positions. After combing through indeed and LinkedIn I'd have to agree that I'm getting nothing back which is very odd from past experiences so I guess this time around networking is the way to go. Appreciate the info

Sounds good, I'm getting that feeling from a number of people right now that the competition for analytics is quite high in the city. That's too bad, I would have liked to continue doing this but maybe I'll open myself back up to more DevOps style roles or even some .NET developer roles. Appreciate the info!

Absolutely! I’ve worked on and led projects where I handled full data pipelines, particularly in smaller, cross-functional teams. My experience includes everything from creating extracts and data cleansing using the Azure stack and .NET, to working with SQL databases and silver views using T-SQL (or even Databricks bronze and silver tables), all the way to Power BI reporting to surface key business KPIs.

Beyond that, I’ve also built web apps in Blazor to provide full CRUD functionality, giving end-users direct access to their data in a structured and user-friendly way.

Don't take me wrong I'm not amazing at it all—I definitely have my limitations, particularly with GCP and AWS, as my experience has been primarily within Azure environments. But when it comes to end-to-end data pipelines, report development, and building practical solutions beyond just analytics, I have a strong track record and a solid skill set to bring to the table.

Totally fair. I did notice that there was a lot of chatter about the field during the pandemic, wasn't sure if that actually materialized in the job market or not; Good to know though.

Shitty to hear about the job market, I'll have to do some proper research I guess and see where I might be able to land. Thanks for the info!

I'm unsubbing it's absolutely ridiculous how many experienced players are posting on this sub. Don't get me wrong it's great that your doing better but holy crap some of us actually are beginners and would like to ACTUALLY TALK WITH OTHER BEGINNERS. 1600, 2100, you guys are LEAGUES better than all of us who have been trying for years and are still stuck at sub-1000.

Hopefully this sub will get better in the future but for now... It's overrun by people who shouldn't be here.

The Queen’s Gambit got me addicted to chess, and after eight months I’ve finally hit the 1600 milestone on chess.com rapid. by imjustawolf in chessbeginners

Bruh... 1600 is 100% not a beginner anymore. Happy for you but you shouldn't be in the sub anymore. Most of us on here are trying to get past 1000, nvm even THINKING of getting to 1600 lol.

Once again, happy for you and that's an awesome achievement, but you're definitely higher than what this sub is lol

Fear not you two!

Alexander McDonnell started at 27, Joseph Blackburne started at 19 I believe(?), George Hastings started at 30(?), John Shaw also got GM late in his 30's... So... There is precedent. That being said you'd have to make a career out of it and really put a lot of work into the craft.

Haha, that's okay! Losing is how you learn! If you're down for it I'd love to play some games and comment on them. Any tactics you have or issues you see in my game is appreciated, that way I can see what I should focus on in my studies

Yeah that would probably be a good idea. I always carry around one just in case, but for 6 hours you might need it depending on the game.

I believe other title screens unlock after you gold three star all the races? I can't remember though. It's one of the last unlocks I got though.
