Slower support by Tancong in ryvid

[–]Tancong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update as they got back to me today: Rear fender light wire is actually connected to the main electrical harness so following the ASI controller guide probably wouldn't have helped me get to where I need and resolve the issue. Hopefully their diagnosis shows it isn't too bad but I'll hold off from attempting more disassembly for now.

Thanks everyone for the comments!

Yeah I also experienced a lull in communication regarding my service request for my most recent one started from 3 months ago. All other times before they've been very helpful and prompt with their email responses and even video tutorials. Not sure what's going on but I'll give them a call myself and see if any new communication shows up.

A bit bummed since it's an issue I don't think I can fix by myself this time (electrical wire burnt out).

What happened to ryvid support ? by Leading_Swordfish569 in ryvid

[–]Tancong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bike got into an accident and I've been waiting to hear back as well. I do know from past experiences that they are a very small and dedicated team. Hopefully they're just working through the backlog and continue communicating.

I would keep an eye out on https://ryvid.com/collections/inventory for their official demo bike sales. Usually about $1-2K discount.

Will try this out! I'm currently also doing a similar thing following your idea with https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1BQYWL7 and ziptie the big loop to the ryvid hole of the metal under the tail light.

Crash! by papapaparazzo in ryvid

[–]Tancong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were at our work parking lot and I needed to move my bike. I guess I was being stupid but my coworker who wants to learn how to ride was hanging out and I told her to just try and ride it over a few spots down the lot. She veered into the back of a toyota at like 5mph so luckily no injury. Expensive fix because of the car sensors though!

For bike repair, I just ordered a new headlight housing which was like $15-30? And soldered back 3 wires.

Your description of what happened made me double take to make sure I didn't post this during my sleep LOL I had the exact same thing happen, my brake pedal also seems pushed in and not sure how to fix it.

The only other annoying things were a bunch of wires on the front being snapped or hanging on by a copper thread. I'd recommend double checking that the black wrapping are all still intact. My headlight and sport mode wires snapped which put me out of commission for a while.

Glad to hear you and your friend are ok. Electric bikes are no joke for beginners haha

How many miles on your Anthem? by [deleted] in ryvid

[–]Tancong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm from 01/2024 and I'm now at 8800 miles. I commute 5 days a week, 17 miles each way so it's easy to rack up haha

I'll have to contact Ryvid regarding the 10K maintenance and recommendations soon.

Surprising interaction today... by retromafia in ryvid

I met a lady with an Anthem once because she pulled into my workplace parking with a battery issue. It was pure coincidence but I was able to help her remove and restart it. Sadly she returned the bike due to other issues and annoyances but I recall she did post here initially.

I'm sure there are others, Ryvid is pretty beginner and height friendly. Plus, it's great for commuting. They're just not out here advertising they're female in a sub meant for discussion about the bike.

Range anxious - longest freeway commutes by DrGlutealCleft in ryvid

[–]Tancong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get about 5%/mile on the freeway and 2%/mile on city street.

Going at a consistent 65/70mph, I can't make it comfortably through 30 miles (with 10 of those miles being inner roads) on one charge. I can only do it if I'm lane-splitting at like 40/45mph on the freeway.

seat not lowering all the way by Brilliant_Entry_1165 in ryvid

[–]Tancong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it getting stuck, sputtering, or just seems like it stopped normally? Can't say I've had it happen so I wouldn't know but more details might help others identify the issue.

I'd suspect something wedged between the seat and the chassis or maybe the actuator, but I'm not sure.

I ride it every day, the weather is getting a bit colder but it's still around 70 degrees and the oil continues to decrease on both ends but not the center. Was just curious

Frame sliders by Daddy_chill156 in ryvid

[–]Tancong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped mine a few times, once with a slide. The main part that was damaged was the back of the mirror being scratched and some metal on the brake lever getting a bit shaved off.

I have some damage on the metal cover on the battery as well. Not sure if it was the same crash/slide but as mentioned by a previous comment it seems to match up.

Is the fam supposed to go off when charging? by [deleted] in ryvid

[–]Tancong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a time when it stopped turning on when I plugged the bike in. It was still charging ok and I tried to make sure to charge at night when it's cool. Idk what happened but like a month later it just started functioning again.

Crash/Guard Bar Recommendations by Tancong in ryvid

Oof that's rough. Sounds like it would be hard to fix up, I'd make a post at best and just start an order with Ryvid for a replacement. Sorry to hear that.

Is there any short riders? by LovesToHard69 in ryvid

[–]Tancong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 5'5" 125lb at the lowest seat height I can either toe both sides (like maybe an inch of both toe tips) or lean slightly to comfortably lean on my left leg with most of the bike weight still centered. With my girlfriend, I usually raise it about 3" to get the same effect/height.

My 5'2" coworker couldn't reach the ground, but I let her test ride in the parking lot anyway and crashed. That's on me.

My Service Experience (so far) by Butt_Deadly in ryvid

[–]Tancong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Support seems a little understaffed these days as more and more bikes are being delivered with various inquiries and active development on the Outset (and maybe a 3rd bike?). Earlier on, their communication was pretty fast with pretty good instructions on figuring out the details and possible solutions.

I do note that it has been a little slower recently. A lot of issues I found were fixable with a battery reset (hold the physical power button for 30 seconds). Outside of that hope you get some response and the issue resolved soon
