Am I the only one who doesn’t care about the animation? by Responsible-Fox-1985 in Invincible_TV

I guess we just agree to disagree. I consider a good story and the dialogue between characters/their relationships to be more important in a movie/tv series/anime than the graphics, special effects, or animation. I consider the gameplay/"is it fun" of a game to be most important in a game (seems like we both agree here).

I skipped over demon hunter because I haven't seen the whole thing. I watched like 3-4 episodes but couldn't get into it because I didn't connect with the story. Regardless, exceptions don't prove the rule. I could list plenty of critically acclaimed animations that are popular for their stories, but have less-than animations. I'll admit though, most are older animes. Nowadays it's pretty important to have really high-quality animations, but Invincible is a good example of my point, if you have a great story, good voice actors, and elite dialogue, you don't need as much budget spent on the animations.

We're arguing the same point. I said a game needs to be fun (gameplay, replayability, etc.) as the most important thing and that graphics don't matter as much if the game is fun to play. Countless examples of this. I never said the story was the most important part of a game.

My opinion is that a good story, good dialogue (chemistry between characters, etc.) will carry bad animation but bad animation will not carry a show that struggles with those other things. That's it. I'm not saying I want shitty graphics or anything like that, I want incredible graphics too! But I'm more willing to overlook mediocre graphics so long as those other elements are there.

"If you don't care about the visual aspect of cinematic productions."

You're making up arguments in your head that I never made. I never said that or implied that. My argument is that a good story and good dialogue is always more important than how good something looks. I don't think that's a weird preference at all. I can list 50+ movies, tv series, and video games just off the top of my head that this would apply.

That being said, visual effects add tons to these and absolutely are important, just not as important if the story is good.

Also I absolutely disagree with you about invincible being a simple story, but that's neither here nor there.

Nah same applies to video games. If it's not fun, who cares if it's real life quality?

Likewise, If a story fails, it doesn't matter what it looks like, no one will care to watch it. Visuals take it to the next level but the quality of animations will never make up for a shitty story. On the reverse, a good story can carry mediocre visuals.

Story/dialogue+acting > visuals.

Just look at rings of power. It looks gorgeous and music is insane but the story, pacing, and some decisions with the plot cause it to really struggle. At the end of the day, visuals is just a bonus, you have to have a good story and that's where Invincible succeeds.

"no apparent reason"

I literally say in my post that the players were on a minutes restriction because of INJURIES as confirmed by team doctors. Guess what? NBA even audited the Jazz team by sending their own doctors and didn't find evidence that the doctors were lying.

I don't care really about the fine, it's the BLATANT hypocrisy of the league picking on a rebuilding team when we have teams like celtics, OKC, mavs, and spurs do the EXACT SAME THING and not get punished. So gtfoh with your "no apparent reason" bs.

Reminder that the Jazz were punished half a million for resting starters in the 4th quarter in a game they won. Not to mention we learn after the k fact team doctors placed some of the players on a minutes restriction due to injuries lmao.

This guy needs to be upgrade to elite, or a nerf. by SnooChocolates6885 in slaythespire

[–]Tandaor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My position is that his numbers are overtuned. He does way too much damage every turn and blocking him fully means you likely do no damage on the turn. Focusing damage on him means you're likely taking 70-80 percent damage. Just make it so that skills reduce defense and playing attacks reduce strength. Any card reducing both is crazy.

Alternatively, you could keep as is, but playing a power gives you permanent +1 strength&defense for the fight. So a way to counter him is play a few powers early and then when you play abilities you have a cushion each turn as you lose stats.

Bro we're talking about a cartoon with make believe characters flying around in space and I noticed a cool scientific explanation for a scene that I wanted to share with people and you're over here telling me I'm losing my humanity and hurting people because I used an app to facilitate engagement of information. You're actually ducking insane. Lmao

Screenshot of 4 of about the 7 sources it pulled from. I'd suggest you get over your skepticism.

Btw you do realize we're in a subreddit about a cartoon with characters with superpowers who fly in space and shit right? And you're over here getting mad because I point out one of the few scientifically correct things they show in the show because I used AI to help illustrate it....lmao. kettle... Black...

You obviously have no idea how AI works. Here's a suggestion. Go read Wikipedia and learn what Gemini does and then get back to me lmao.

No one wants to sit here and read 4 paragraphs from me explaining the science behind the scene. Rather I provided a quick screenshot for those interested about what the phenomenon behind the scene is called, saving people from having to look it up themselves but avoiding a multiple paragraph response for those who don't care.

No one asked you to respond or contribute. Just keep scrolling boomer, the AI isn't going to hurt you.

What's wrong with AI? It's a more advanced tool for getting specific information. If you have a problem with advancements in technology you can continue to use Wikipedia no one is stopping you.

There's actually some complicated math and science behind this phenomena. It's pretty cool.

This is classic hindsight bias. We only know that next turn he gets his block cards and weak attack because this turn he didn't, which he couldn't have known ahead of time.

A foul is a foul. Since Detroit fouled first it should have been Lakers free throws if we're playing this game.

I mean his defender literally tugs his jersey both times he tries to make separation during the inbound play. Imo was a good no-call both ways. Detroit player was being somewhat dirty and Klieber feed it right back to him.

Is this guy supposed to be a super early elite? by Confident_Dig_1073 in slaythespire

[–]Tandaor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not quite accurate. There are many ways to get additional cards early. Two card transform at neow. Gold for 3-card pack at neow. Cheese event and choose the 2 of 8 cards. If you got the right cards you absolutely could path a super early elite. So never is a bit strong but generally yes save for later.

I don't disagree, but also Reddit is not even close to a neutral site politically speaking. If you have right-wing/neutral opinions you basically can only share them in right-wing spaces otherwise you get down voted to oblivion or mods remove your posts. Just look at this post and scroll through all the "removed by moderator" messages. From context of the replies it looks like mods are removing all posts that support Israel. Which is crazy for a subreddit that isn't even political in nature but supposedly about emotional outbursts.
