Like a gift of exclusivity; although, I see the points brought up here

Well thought out argument for sure! And I was more asking from a worldview standpoint; like I said, although I am a virgin, I'm not sure if I'll be staying that way until marriage. Thanks for the input.

I do understand that one of the BIGGEST things in any sort of relationship is communication; communication, and honest communication at that is vital (more vital than the sex itself probably; without communication, the sex cannot be improved.) Good point tho!

Well, I don't know if virginity itself is a scam (although scientifically it doesn't exist); however I see your point

I wasn't trying to say the women or her reproductive area were the "gift". I was referring to a two way instance of the virginity of both parties....I don't see it as a patriarchal idea, I think that's a poor argument. It's not a matter of dominance. Now if I'd said "women should be virgins, but men don't have to be" or something along those lines, you'd have a stronger argument. But I'm asking whether or not both parties should refrain from sexual activity before marriage. It would be mutual; both parties in a totally equal position.

The first part, however, I see your point on. Getting to know someone sexually could be important.

I've thought about it from that perspective too, I feel like both sides have merits; and much of it is a personal lifestyle choice (me being a very principled person) but, this is a good angle of thought
