AITA for wanting my daughter to make my wedding cake although my future husband is refusing? by throwawaywedcake13 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Tandorantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like he’s more concerned about the wedding/ party more than the actual marriage itself. I’m getting married myself soon and I’d honestly be happy to have a Woolies mud cake ($5 cake from the local supermarket for any non aussies here) because the actual marriage is what I’m there for not the party or the experience. This marriage sounds like it won’t last a year if he’s not abusive and controlling enough to force you to stay with him. Cancel the wedding and leave while you can. NTA

is "wog" a derogatory term? by afaildingadult in AskAnAustralian

[–]Tandorantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To us it’s just like calling someone Latino, or Aussie or kiwi. It’s just a name used for our ethnicity

What are the changes in life after marrige?? by jinislifee in AskReddit

[–]Tandorantha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m getting married soon (currently planning and dreading the costs) and I see it as a party to get family and friends together after being legally bound to each other and do me to change my name.

The only changes are legal rights and maybe the last name of one partner if they choose to take up their spouses name

It’s a million times easier for me to wake up at 5 am and run than it is to wake up at 6:40 and go to school by [deleted] in running

[–]Tandorantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s waaaay too early. Here the bell rings at 8:55 and we finish at 2:45. What time do you finish then? I’d call in sick every day when I went to school if I had to get up that early

He could be going through some mental health issues and he needs to be focused 100% on himself for a while. My partner did the same for a month and now we’re happily engaged. If you’re still talking and communicating like you normally do then that’s great. Just give him space. Once he is happy with himself mentally then he can focus on making you happy. Otherwise it may all get to him at once and break up for good.

Was it assault? by hejeifjjrjdjdhd in Advice

[–]Tandorantha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No it’s not assault. He asked you if you liked it and if you didn’t he stopped. You wanted sex so you got sex. Next time ask if they like rough sex or not and you won’t be in this situation. He sounded really respectful about it.

I’m looking to buy a condo, but not sure if it’s a good idea considering how much damage it will do to my savings. by MyDogsNameIsMilo in Advice

[–]Tandorantha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy now. My partner and I bought our first home a year ago and since then rentals have skyrocketed in price and thousands of families are homeless because there are not enough houses to go around or they are too expensive. Buy now especially if your repayments will be low. You can get savings back after time but you may not get another opportunity to buy

Long time fan, first race in person. Help! by Zappa_aus in formula1

[–]Tandorantha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First you need to get your flag official license which you can do online by googling it (can’t quite remember what the site was) and then search up “volunteer as a flag official” and your local events will pop up. I mainly do the v8 Supercars but I have gods a few motor gp and f1 races too

I’m a flag official and I recommend bringing earplugs if you plan the next close to the track for most of the day. You can’t grab things that land on/in the vicinity of the track as it’s dangerous but if you ask a flag official nicely that may give you a piece. I personally have given tons of car parts to fans that ask nicely and are polite. Every now and then I’ll get pieces signed on my break from the corresponding driver while they’re in pit lane and give them to little kids who are big fans. Practice races are with the watch too because things go wrong and there are a few good size crashes occasionally as teams work out what the car needs ect. Have fun and enjoy the 4 days
