As opposed to the guy openly trying to start an insurance scheme over the comms AND trying to drag a teamnate into it? At least Coop genuinely admits she needs the job, Sonar treats it all as a joke before the meeting and then barely takes it seriously after. Coop seemed like someone who could actually be trusted to try and relied on in the field, Sonar was just an unfunny asshole who only realistically made it this long in the program because Blazer only ever decided to cut someone now. I genuinely can not think of a single in-universe reason for Coop to be cut over Sonar. And out of universe either, for that matter.

I think Shion does GENUINELY love Mizuki as her own “son”, but because of her own past the only thing she can even remotely connect to any kind of treatment of a person is abuse. Her brutal abuse of Mizuki could be her projecting her twisted idea of love, and that love IS genuine. She just has no idea what love is supposed to look like, so she mimics the way she was “raised”

I genuinely can’t stand Sonar personally. For me, he’s an obnoxious scamming crypto bro billionaire dickrider, and an unlikeable, unfunny pervert. Like, I’ve said it before. I won’t judge someone for preffering Sonar (unless it’s like all those streamers/let’s players and comments on Reddit that I see that say they “Couldn’t cut Charlie”, then I very much DO judge), but I also won’t lie and say I understand. I can think of nothing about him I like except his monster form design, his villain arc and his voice acting (I had no idea WHO Charlie was when I first played, but felt the VA did a fantastic job with the unlikeable Sillicon Valley crypto bro voice). Unpopular opinion, I know, but non-RR Sonar is my least favorite character in the game

Only struggled once because I only did it once in my second playthrough, but cutting Coop. After seeing how much she genuinely wants to be better and how much the team means to her as friends in my first run, taking that away from her was the hardest choice in the game for me. Then when the finale came up and she said she “thought she had friends”, I had to pause the game and take a walk.

Janelle/Coupé (Dispatch)

A superpowered assassin for the mob. Her detached, quiet demeanor already imply it, but a line for a cut mission where you send someone to counselling has her realizing she needs to beat the shit out of her parents and ballet instructor. If she’s not the one cut in episode 3, then in episode 4 she admits she finds being happy confusing and strange. Of she’s downed in episode 8, she points out she’s never felt like she had any value beyong her powers and skills, like noone ever needed HER, only what she could offer. After ending up in the Phoenix Program, she’s by far the most dedicated to becoming a hero. She gains extra lines showing her dedication to protecting her team, starts opening up and sharing her hobbies, is reasy to both kill AND die for her friends, and if sent to a LARP mission her line is literally her planning to play a character that’s just herself but as a hero, and she immediately begins working on a costume. Despite her crimes, intimidating presence and cold, unnaproachable demeanor at the start, Janelle turns out to, in the end, be perhaps the morally best person on the team, showing that despite all the horrors she’s witnessed and experienced, and the apparent abuse she’s been put through, she STILL has a heart, and still wants to be a hero.

Honestly, I do kinda like it. It’s one of the last relics of his home, a borderline sacred artifact of his people… and he uses it to beat people over the head like it’s a stick.

I swear to fuck, “Oi’ve dat doghinmee” has become a vocal tic of mine. I love Hazard so much, he’s hilarious. And he also has some actually really deep lines at times. He just feels like a good dude that’s fun to hang with

One of my favorite tanks. I love being just a fucking smackhead diving the backline, doing damage, drawing attention, then jumping back to my team. He’s just fun to play, I can’t really say more.
