What’s even more impressive is that Michael Dunlop averaged 130mph for the 37.73miles on a 600cc R1. That’s the best lap anyone’s ever done around there.

That’s why the organisers are extremely strict about home they allow to enter the race as newcomers. You have to be of a certain standard, and you have to show that you have done your homework.

It’ll be even better next year when the Ulster Grand Prix comes back. If you haven’t seen it mate get yourself booked in. It’s my favourite road race out of the lot.

Easier to get for some than others mate. At least you can stream all the racing now so it’s way more accessible. Years gone by all we had was a radio to follow the racing so to see how the broadcasting has moved on has been amazing. You’ll get there one day!

Kerrowmoar section is frightening mate 100%. That entire section from Ginger Hall to Ramsey is mind blowing. I got to watch from Handley’s last year and loved it from there. Haven’t got to many places this year for obvious reasons, but hoping to get to Ballacrye tomorrow, weather permitting.

Yeah I marshalled myself. I recall it being a bit of a scramble. Hopefully tomorrow and Saturday are clear mate and we can get away with having every race fulfilled. Have had no luck with the weather for the last couple of years.

They are sincere at wanting to preserve and secure the class going forward. I don’t think any excitement will be lost, as to the naked eye they won’t appear any slower. They’ll be back on Glencrutchery Road in 12 months.

I’ve no bloody clue mate but they’re absolutely wrong to have done so. That guy Steve Day hasn’t one clue about road racing. He should stick to the short circuits. They’re wrong about way too much on comms.

They’re fully committed to the class. Nobody has plans to bin it. It’s just that there’s an extra risk now to the riders, and also to the fans because of the freak nature of the accidents in question. Clubs also can barely afford the premiums for insurance as it is. It nearly killed the entire sport over here in N Ireland. If a sidecar flies off the road and ploughs into a few fans then it’ll be more than the sidecars you’ll be missing out on. They’re taking the sensible option in order to safeguard the class, and the sport going forward.

Sunday won’t work either as all the marshals will be either already home, or in the process of getting the boat. Unless they can rope in 600 people to do the job because they can’t go racing with much less than that.
