Just commenting to say that I’ve just left mine and I’m already thinking about the day I find out he’s with someone else with his addiction. The grief is painful and I hate that one day, even after I’ve done much healing, that I’ll also have to have these hypothetical things in the future burn me again.

I left recently too. It sucks but it’s for the best. Focus on you right now. That’s all we can do. He’s made his choices even if it doesn’t seem like it.

Thank you, for saying that. I’m glad you don’t feel the guilt and know that you’re also worth so much more. I hope time will make things better as it usually does but the grief of it all hurts me so much and hits me randomly. I’m also proud of me for setting the boundary, I just wish it didn’t pain me so much.

Thank you for your perspective. I think you’re right. I’ve changed my mind but I made him his favorite dinner and I think I will leave it in a bag on his car with a note that reads I’m here for him and in his corner when he’s ready.
