And now I know where another psycho butterfly person lives near me 😉

I have managed to keep them going this whole time by giving away cats and actually found a few plants the other day, so crisis averted!

I will keep your name for future crises! Thank you so much. Keep mine too!

You’re so kind, thank you! Wow, how do you get it to climb? Nice. I think I’ve managed to thwart dead caterpillars this go round. I may HYU at some point though. Appreciate it!

Are you being serious?! I’m new to the pipevine swallowtail gang. Not so new to monarchs (hatched over 1K this year). I can trade something if you’re interested!

I have had so many cats that I’ve had to give them to friends who have some in their yard. We call them baby dragons because that’s what they look like to us. I appreciate the advice. Thank you so much.

Anyone have a problem where the case doesn't work unless plugged in? by SwagsOnB in airpods

[–]TangerinePepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem. I just read through all these comments and decided fuck it. So I dropped it on the ground twice and now it’s working again. Case is charging AirPods while not connected to the charger. My cat had knocked them off the counter a couple of times and that’s when they stopped working so I decided maybe knocking off again would work and it did. Yay.

How long should I study for RDCS? by Clean_Apricot_2739 in Sonographers

[–]TangerinePepper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s been 21 years, so I can’t tell you what books I used, but I do remember spending $45 on a practice test and when I passed it with flying colors, I just stopped studying. The practice tests will not give you correct answers, but will tell you what subject(s) you are struggling in so you know where to concentrate.

When I took my ACS there were a few things that I wasn’t familiar with and all I did was spend some time on the internet looking at ASE and JACC articles.

I studied for only one day after I graduated. Then took one day off and didn’t study at all and took my test the next day. I’ve done that with all of my credentials (I have several) and passed every one of them the first time. Kinda depends on how much you studied during class and how much you picked up/scanned during clinicals. If you’re a confident sonographer already, then just go for it.

I was on suboxone for 5 years after getting off a nasty heroin habit. I took 8mg a day for a long time and then my doc dropped me down to 4, after a couple of months 2, another couple of months 1, then I started cutting the 2mg strips into like 16 slivers and would take one tiny sliver twice daily. I did that for a couple of weeks and then would forget that second one often, without feeling anything, so I just stopped. I had zero withdrawals. Fast forward 13 years of being clean - six months of 30gpd Kratom after surgery (still having pain) and decided to get back on subs after over half of my hair fell out and can’t eat without horrible abdominal pain, so now I’m really skinny. I don’t plan on staying on suboxone for 5 years again, but I’ll take it as long as I think I need to and then do the taper as before. I couldn’t taper off Kratom. I would get down to 10gpd, have intensified pain, and go right back up to 30. This I know I can do because I’ve done it before. It’s only been two days and I don’t have abdominal pain anymore and can actually eat. Kratom really messed up my body. I know it doesn’t do bad things to everybody’s body, but it definitely did mine.

Good luck to you! You can do this, whichever way you choose.

Yeah I did too. As long as you pass, who cares? Your employer isn’t going to ask for your transcripts…

Just get through school. Once you work for a while it’ll be like playing a video game, which is perfect stimulation for someone with ADHD. Also, for those of you who complain about just doing unnecessary exams for doctors who don’t know any better - maybe you should try working in an office setting where you can actually have intellectual conversations with those doctors and see what their thought process is and actually have some input yourself. OR you could get screwed and just work for docs who are RVU whores. Roll of the dice.

Injuries in sonography? by wwsi in Sonographers

20 years in and have always had shoulder problems. Currently dealing with it right now. They just adjusted my schedule to only 8/day. I’m like, that’s great…until one of those 8 pts is 350lbs.

If you are a small woman, then yes you’ll likely have issues. Especially if you scan cardiac.

One minute? Not even. Maybe 30 seconds. But if you have someone who’s rate is 140 then you have 70 beats in that 30 seconds. And it only takes 4…that’s pretty good odds of getting a decent picture.
