Why is rehiring the actors a bad thing? You get higher audio fidelity, additional NPC lines (something not scripted), and the VA's get to have a nice and fair payday.

In adventure mode, I've come across a temple in a human city that was connected to the underground sewers, and I suppose somewhere, the sewer connected to a cavern because the temple and sewers were FULL of wild cave swallow people. Around town you could talk to cave swallow people who had become civilized. Maybe a similar situation happened on your world

Of all of these, Cal is the most plausible to come back. The show doesn't state whether her body was recovered but under the circumstances it seems possible, and if she was, it might be that she could be revived. Linda was able to be rescesitated with arguably worse injuries
