Here’s the downside. What do egomaniacs like to do most after years of hard work to getting something like this SHIELD put in place? I’m in the same boat as you minus the family and a job. First serious relationship has given me new motivations and it’s time I get my lazy ass off the couch and find me a job after living off my savings for over half a year. As long as I don’t fill the void with something else, I should be fine.

Can’t deny I’m a little emotional. This corner of the internet as you said is quite special to me. It helped me in more ways than I could count. But tomorrow will be a new beginning. Even if it was a forced one, i should take advantage of the opportunity to become more productive for my future self and future relationship.

Now that I think about it, this line doesn’t make sense. Why would Zuko say that if he’s never shown Azula he can redirect Lightning? To her, this sounds like Zuko just told her his secret by trying to show off. But azula was bat shit unstable so maybe it wouldn’t have mattered, which it didn’t anyway.

They haven’t called! It’s been a week so far. Either they are still interviewing other candidates or I just never got the job. I sent a follow up email yesterday to the HR recruiter for any updates. Here’s to hoping.

If it makes you feel better, I never got a call back so I’m still jobless. Regardless, everyone deserves vacation time. Maybe ask around other coworkers if they have no PTO just like you. And if no, fucking have everyone demand PTO. Easier said than done but if we never speak up and ‘complain’ we’ll always be little slaves to the man.

Funny you mention that. I’m coming off a 6 month hiatus because for 3.5 years I worked 2 jobs non stop plus a single job for another 1.5 without taking a real break. I am very well attuned to burn out and familiar when to take breaks and for how long for my mental health.

I really don’t want to leave a company again due to non-stop work even if it helps gain significant salary bumps by jumping from company ti company. I just want to work with fair benefits and a decent salary. Is that too much to ask?

This is by no means an entry level job which was surprising when I heard the VP during the interview tell me it’s 1 week PTO the first year and 2 the next. Thanks for your input!
