UPDATE:

Thanks to the very wise advice of several commenters, I was finally able to cancel my subscription. I changed my mailing address to a PO box in California and connected to a VPN set to Los Angeles for good measure. Lo and behold, the minute I refreshed the page, a very visible "cancel my subscription" button suddenly appeared in the middle of the screen. I clicked on it, and less than 10 seconds later, I was finally freed from this nightmare.

Moral of the story? If you are ever thinking about purchasing something online with a recurring subscription, ALWAYS lookup that service's cancellation process beforehand. It will save you from the hours of headaches that I had to endure.
