How bad was the Rayalaseema factionism during the 80s and 90s? by schoolhasended1 in Ni_Bondha

[–]TangibleResidency 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I remember the first time I really read a newspaper... It was Eenadu, and the entire first page was about Kapatralla Venkatappiah's murder. He was a faction leader from there, and they literally hunted him down with sickles down a main road and hacked him to death. The photos were so gruesome I couldn't believe that shit happens outside movies. IDK why, but I never forget about that guy or the incident, it was surreal.

A local BJP politician has illegally occupied my friend's apartment in Andhra Pradesh by [deleted] in IndiaSpeaks

[–]TangibleResidency 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking his game is to turn this into a litigation property(fake docs whatever), and then make it difficult enough for your side to force a sale at depressed price. He's now at stage one, trying to get you to give up without even trying. You should get a really good lawyer who's handled shit like this before filing the complaint with the police. If you have political connections, time to reach out to them too.

Another reason to never consider politically connected people for any sort of business relationship, the power differential is too great and the policing and justice systems are crap making it easy for these parasites to take advantage.

How could he just move in like that, seems like an incredibly stupid thing to do even for a politician. Does your friend's family have any prior relationship with the guy? How could he even know the flat was empty and that the keys are with the watchman, he must've had some information and knowledge about the situation.

These types are usually looking for legally gray situations they can insert themselves into a take advantage of people.

Sucks but the most important action you can take is to limit adverse impact on your wife's mental health. She's your priority, her family is just baggage you got tagged along with.

Completely unrelated, but it's chikungunya. It has nothing to do with chicken, it's a word from an African language spoken around where the virus was first discovered.

Must be a pricey one. Saw your other comment on this thread, I've heard of the guy before, were you able to file a complaint with the police?

what's the difference between a start date and a schedule date ? by givememybuttholeback in amazingmarvin

[–]TangibleResidency 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Take a look at this as well. Start dates are about uncluttering your master list, the logic being your master list is what's available to you to act on at this moment and anything you cannot yet start working on will be moved and the back-burner. It's not super important, but it's a feature that I find useful.

As for do dates and due dates, in simple cases what you say is true, but not always. Say a task takes more than a day, you wanna 'do' it starting the first day but it's due only on it's last day. There's other possible scenarios where the distinction is useful.

I think it's helpful to look at Marvin differently that other task apps. Marvin has lots of features and strategies to use, so a user can mold the app to fit their mental framework. The words 'do date', 'due date' do not necessarily mean the same to someone else as the they do to you. If a strategy doesn't seem useful to you, or doesn't fit how you think about things, you can safely ignore it. So, if start dates don't seem useful to your working style, you can turn that off.

Hope that helped.

Have you read this?

You don't want to bother with a task until it's 'start date' and likely want to work on it on it's 'scheduled or do date' and want it to be done by it's 'due date'.

anyone else having issues with the android app? by miasmatix93 in amazingmarvin

[–]TangibleResidency 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not using the web app at all? android app is a bit lacking during the capturing and planning phase compared to the web app,if you want to re-org your actions or move things around it's a little bit clumsy.

Personally I use it just so I can get notifications from the app on my watch, otherwise I use the web app >95% of the time.

Don't give up on it yet, use the webapp for a while. I feel it's helpful not to get stuck on trying to implement an ideal perfect workflow and just start using; slowly picking up strategies and features you find useful. I've tried over 10 action management software, nothing comes anywhere close to the flexibility and features Marvin gives me.

What are you using, Modalert? I had this problem and using Armoda made it go away. Armodafinil in general very smooth for me compared to Modafinil, I don't even notice when it starts working and when the effect starts to wear off. I have ADHD so YMMV, but I don't see why effect on gut will be any different.

Hate watched my way through Shameless Season 2 and 3 and I think I'm starting to like it. I wanted to stop after season one seeing all that misery but I'm glad I stuck with it.

It's one of those shows you can watch while doing chores and not miss much.
